    Hey everyone,

I have been using the sketchup data and images for the outer terrain on my tracks.

The free version does not have that now. Are there any other ways to get terrain data from Google earth or similar? Australia only.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

You can use microdem to work with geotiff files and export heightmaps from them. Be warned, however, it’s nowhere near as easy as sketchup was. There’s plenty of information online to help. The easiest source of data is probably https://gdex.cr.usgs.gov/gdex/, and you probably want to look at the SRTM 1 arcsec data from memory. Info on the SRTM data can be found here https://lta.cr.usgs.gov/SRTMVF. Good luck!

    Hey Daniel,
Thank you for that. Found some great information. So next is to see if the data for around Brisbane is good enough to do this :)
