    Hi,

I am doing some practicing in the Nurburgring, and I feel that I am not doing such a bad driving at night, but my lap times are about 10s slower! Feels like RF2 is having performance issues and times are desynchronized with the actual driving. I reduced the graphics as much as possible, but that did nothing.

    Does anyone has an idea?

    Thanks in advance.

Could you post your system and computer specs?

It's not you, is it? I had to adjust to night driving because it felt like someone had moved the corners further up the road or brought them closer.

10s thats a lot ! Or it is not if it is very big and barely lit circuit.

I got confused if this problem is about fps/stuttering performance, or actual driver performance.

You are supposed to be slower in dark, because you simply see less, it is harder to judge everything. But 10s is massive, whats the track ?

Lol, I know the feeling, but 10s is too much even in the Nords. If I drive really conservative with no mistakes, I am about 5s slower. But 10s does not feel right.

Yes, the 24h layout, Nordschleife plus GP circuit, sorry I was not specific.

It is a Dell Inspiron Gaming, i7, 8GB RAM DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB.

Plus, I just did a CPU test with that purple meter... 50%-60% max on CPU (purple). GPU (green) has a full bar, but I was told it is OK, hope someone can confirm that.

Yes i agree with you with the GPU bar.
    Your specs are OK.
    What resolution do you use?
Are you using AIs? How many?
You can check the FPS with ctrl+F (i use VR and suppose it´s the same with monitor.

The graphs sound fine, green full is normal, purple only around half is totally fine, you'd see it hitting the right edge and doing a sweep from side to side if you had an issue that was affecting your realtime (and laptime, online).

10s over nords isn't all that much, and it's not exactly the best circuit for memorizing the rhythm of corners to compensate in the dark. Sounds plausible to me.

A difference of 10 seconds between night and day, on a circuit of almost 25 km and which is the most technical in the world, seems to me quite normal, even for a very good regular driver .... I do not see Where is the problem.

    Thanks for replying.
Was using full HD. I will try lower it. FPS at night was around 50-60.
    No AIs....

Well... I would like to agree, but other guys racing there told me that 2s should be normal. And after practicing for a while I don't feel that slower.

I have been grinding ACC R1 a lot. One car, one track (nurburgring gt), one month. In the hot stint event it would get dark. half of the track is well lit, the other half is dark. It gets dark and I keep the pace in the well lit section, then in the rest of the track which is really dark I loose from 1s to 1.5s. In the half of the gt track... So 10s in whole nords + gp ? You are quick in the dark, do you abuse gamma ? :D

@Endurancer FPS won't affect game time, the CPU might but it will show in that graph. If you had issues that caused the game to 'lose sync' it would do it at all times, not just at night.

If you don't trust yourself to keep an eye on the graph you could use DAMPlugin to log your data, which includes a time loss channel for that very purpose (more details in the plugin's thread and ask there if you need more info) but if you see it around 50-60% it shouldn't be an issue. There's no difference between 10% and 90% on that graph as far as timing goes, it's only when it actually hits 100.

Each of the following things drastically drops the FPS compared to a dry weather in the middle of the day :

Night or sunrise or sunset, or low sun, rain, quite high AI numbers.
