I am trying to setup RF2 with motion but every time I need to make an adjustment outside of RF2 I need to exit sim completely.

When I alt tab it just goes to black screen and the tabs of other programs come up but when I choose one it just goes back to RF2. I have tried windowed mode and fullscreen, hmd only or mirrored. hmmmm

I don't have VR but with alt+tab try holding down alt, then tap tab until desktop is highlighted and release alt.

I use Windows+D to go to the desktop. Then you can use alt+tab, the mouse or whatever you want.
I use borderless or windowed mode.
I don't know if this works in fullscreen

This happens to me if the Cliffhouse starts when I run VR. The only thing I can do is reboot. I avoid the Cliffhouse by starting RF2 and launching single player BEFORE putting on my headset. That starts SteamVR without the cliffhouse. I know people say it shouldn't matter, but it does for me. I also have problems if I try to run on the headset and desktop monitor at the same time, but I think that's because I don't have enough horses to do that.

    Thanks @SPASKIS . I've never heard it.
@Booth_doberman i start Steam, go to Library and launch rF2 from there, without problems.

Just run RF2 in windowed mode then you can switch between programs just fine.

Thanks guys, I have tried all above suggestions..... full screen, borderless, windowed. Nothing, the tabs come up but when I select one it just reverts to RF2 in VR. Verified local files through Steam. Might reinstall RF2 and see what happens.

***** for sure need some type of lock to horizon settings for VR and motion.....got woozy after 2 laps in Montreal ******

Have you tried the Windows+D instead the Alt+Tab option?

When you Alt-tab, do you see a screen like this, with all your open programmes? (not that you can click on any of them without returning to rF2)

    alttab.JPG

Well, somewhere on this screen you'll fine '+ New Desktop' (mine is top left), click that. Now you'll have two desktops, Desktop 1 and Desktop 2. Clicking on the new desktop will give you a blankslate, where you can open all the programmes you want and adjust everything you need.

To return to rF2, Alt-tab and click back on Desktop 1.

It's not as fast as proper Alt-tabbing, but it works!
