    Hello everyone!

I can hardly find anything in the web about this wheelbase settings.
I've seen one famous tutorial about ffb in rf2 forum but i'm not looking for that.
As much as i would like to enjoy rFactor 2 i simply can't. My wheel seems to ratle a lot when going over kerbs, in an unhealthy way, i cant feel load transfer, i can't feel low speeds, i cant feeling when the tire is losing grip and when it finally does it seems the wheel doesnt counter react as a normal car/wheel would do when in contact with tarmac.

I think, but i may be wrong, controller.json is tunnable and i've tried with those numbers back and forth but without much success. I mostly try settings with the amg gt gt3 car from simtek but maybe i'm doing something wrong.
    1. WHich car would be good to create a sort of a baseline for ffb? Skippy?
    2. Which settings on the wheel do you guys use?

    Im using:
    ff 90
    sho 60
    abs off
    lin off
    dea off
dri 003 (apparentely this is the neutral position, is this correct?)
    for 80
    dpr off
    spr off

    3. Did you guys change anything in the controller.json file?
This is what i'm using. Changed a few things such as spring coefficient and spring saturation and some more i cant remember:

    4. There's a line called steering torque capability. Apparentely this wheel can do 6.0 Nm. (not sure at the moment).. but when i change the value it makes it heavy AF. I know what torque is but did you guys find any sweet spot for this value?

I'd like to discuss these settings with csl owners or anyone else who knows what each line does to the wheel.

Thank very much for taking the time to read this long post and sorry i have no potato for you guys ;)

i think it works so much better with assetto corsa.
i'm using the parameters available on the wheel.

I'm bumping this thread after I asked for help on Discord. I, as others, have this problem with CSL Elite Xbox and PC version that it rattles so much it makes rF2 FFB feels like the worst of the lot. It's like driving on gravel all the time. It wasn't like that with the G27. The only other sim I have problems with is Automoblista, but that's probably due to a never rectified bug.

    So far, my settings are:
    Sen aut
    FF 85
    Sho 100
    Abs off
    Dri 003
    For 100
    Spr 100
    Dpr 100
    Fei 50

Smoothness: started with 0, went up to to 3, no changes in behaviour
    Multiplier unchanged from default
    Minimum torque 0.0%

Another bump in this thread, i have a g27 and i would like to upgrade my wheel, i just have found a nice offer for the CSL Elite.
So, how is the situation now? There still is lack of support, reversed FFB, rattling etc? I really don't want to wast money, rF2 is the sim i use most.

Yep i've already read it, looks like we can't have an exhaustive answer without try for ourselves, which is a risk i wont take. A shame, because the CSL Elite is a really good piece of wheel and i love Fanatec's addons.

Here's what i use with good results.
Using CSL Elite (Xbox) with P1 steering wheel.
    SEn: Auto
    FF: 75-80
    SHo: 100
    AbS: Off
    dri: Off
    For: 100
    SPr: 100
    dPr: 100
    FEI: Off

    In Game:
    Steering rate: 100
Car specific FFB Multi: 50-85 (Varies widely with car sometimes as low as 55 (Indy Oval) & usually around 65-75 (Enduracers). I don't run my wheel to be super strong. Just a comfortable level. All to your personal taste.
FFB Smoothing: 16 (can likely go much lower but this is the setting i use most of the time & am happy with.)

    Vehicle set Steering wheel range.
    FFB Minimum Torque
    : 0.0%

I also use 100% sensitivity on all the inputs (though has nothing to do with FFB).

Of course FFB all comes down to personal preference but these are the settings that feel good for me.
Everything works as it should with zero issues including auto rotation.

    Hope this helps someone!

Edit also if it's your first time ever using a FFB wheel it's gonna feel strange the first few days.
I know for me at first i felt a little let down by ffb as it carries a huge hype but it just feels different since it needs to give information through the wheel that would normally come through your seat. All i can say is you do get used to it after a day or two & you start to understand it then it feels great.

I also use the exact same wheel tuning menu settings in Automobilista & have excellent results. So i can say it there isn't a bug with it & AMS.

Isn't it like unrealistically light, though? I mean, actual racing wheels are heavy. I understand you want some comfort, but it takes all the strenght away, in my opinion.
Or is it rF2 FFB that's supposed to be like that? In that case, I'd have to change my mind: this is not a CSL Elite compatibility issue, but just the game that is... well different from what you'd except from a racing car.

It doesn't matter to me what's the answer: I just would love somebody to tell me either "there's a problem that needs to be fixed" or "it's not a bug but a feature", so I can stop looking for something that is or isn't there.

    Just found this:

From the title I would say these drivers solve rf2 rattling problem?

No it's not too light & if you want it stronger then turn the FFB multiplier up some more. But 1.0 is just too high for most cars.

The multiplier is your main strength adjustment for rF2.
& Just as a side note I also use a lower strength for Fan purposes to try & keep down on the noise.

The problem with FEI is that a low enough setting to eliminate the death rattle also removes most of the road detail. I'm talking about FEI set to 40 or 50 here, as with the latest drivers FEI 100 is sharpest, and FEI 10 is lowest, with the default being FEI 50). It's like running a high filter setting in-game, has the same effect. It also takes away the sharpness of the effects of the CLS wheel base and numbs it down a lot.

@Karei as I wrote in your thread, I've given up looking for a solution. I'm trying rF2 again with every update that comes out either for the game or the wheel drivers to see if something changed, but honestly I think the issue is the way the mechanical parts in the base are built, and the rattling not exclusive to rF2 in my experience, but it's the most extreme here.

I really don't mess with FEI so can't say much on it.
In my experience any type of added force feedback effects are mostly garbage.
I turn off all in game effects in sims like Assetto Corsa (maybe 5%slip) & AMS.
You still get the road & Kerbs without those effects on.
I can only speak to my experience but i get plenty of road feel & kerb feel with FEI off. On bumpy tracks i can feel them and so on.

I'm watching the video just now, it's in my native language luckily. The rattling comes from the low cost materials inside the base (the CSW 2 & CSW 2.5 have higher quality materials so there is no rattling). This FEI is no more than a filter, so yeah, higher FEI less rattling but less overall feelings. He recommends FEI 7.
So it's a base issue, and in rF2 it's more extreme probably due to the raw FFB (which is the best imho).
I really don't know what to do, i just want to get rig of my noisy G27 and upgrade to a stronger wheel around 400-500 euros, looks like a TS-PC is the only choice for what i need, damn, i wanted that McLaren GT3 rim so much..

About a month ago I upgraded from a G920 to a TS-PC wheel/CSL Elite LC pedals and couldn't be happier about it. I'm sure you won't regret it if you end up getting one coming from a G27.

I will not buy CSL Elite base in that case.
This is a serious issue imo.
To pay 500 EUR for a wheel that rattles, hmmm...
I need quite wheel to play at night while family is sleeping.
