    Hi all.

Not really been on RF2 for a couple of years now, as I personally felt that it had fallen behind some other sims.
Anyway, have reinstalled it to take a look at where its at now, initial impressions are good. VR looks much better now than it was when I first tested it.

I have so many cars and tracks in my steam workshop subscriptions.
I would like to try and thin them down, as it appears that some are dated and havent been updated for years, and dont make the best of the latest build.

Is there any collection in steam, or maybe someone could give me an idea on what cars and tracks will work best in the latest build?

I dont do much oval, so that might thin out the list for startes

    Hi welcome back :)
First of all, most S397 cars work well with the latest build.
Also the cars from apex modding, from endu racers and the gp3 mod from slow motion group. The cars from MAK Corp haven't seen a update for a while, but they are a blast to drive.
There are also a lot of great tracks out there.
Visit sim racing for life on Facebook. There are plenty of great tracks and cars.
    Cheers and have fun.

All S397 stuff on steam workshop. Road atlanta 2017 by Heikki. All Niburu stuff. All tracks from Odb. Cars well next to official s397 content at least try all SlowMotion cars like GP3 and Palatov.

This is all my personal oppinion don't shoot me if you don't agree ;)

The big problem is the legitimate difficulty to sort cars and circuits.

    To put it simply :

Since you are a beginner on RF2 or almost, the best advice on the choice of cars :

    - Official cars ISI & S397
I would say that 20% of cars are only average/not extraordinary.
BUT 60% are really good and 20% are absolutely exceptional (part of the best virtual cars that exist, without exaggeration).
SO : download all cars ISI (old editor) and S397 (new editor).
This is the best starting point.
    - 2nd thing to do = buy ALL * DLC * S397, which are of exceptional quality. Trust me, buy them.
    - Then, to START/START AGAIN RF2 : Download GP3 (uses only the 2018 part of the mod) + Metalmoro MR1 + Palatov D4. These mods come from one of the best modding groups. The physics are the best in modding, and equal the best cars ISI and S397, which is rare even for very good modders.
Download KARTSIM : This is a totally unavoidable DLC, the realism is impressive.
You have to subscribe to gasoline alley too because I'm not sure it's classified as ISI content like Palatov D4.

    SO :
Among the contents ISI/S397, you will have some cars a little less good than others (~ 20%) out of a total of about 50 cars.

    Thanks all...thats a great help.

I cant remember the answer to this, but if i unsubscribe from items in the workshop, are they uninstalled when you launch the game, or do you need to go into the package manager to reove them manually?

Also, are there any duplications between ISI and studio 397 content before i hit the subscribe button?

    Many thanks

Try to play mills metro park with Enduracers mod at 6.00 o clock in the afternoon
    weather light rain
    set time speed to X25
you ll see phenomenal good graphics
dont just play 12.00 o clock in the morning and expect any super graphics

I’m in same position as you:

    Kartsim -a must buy
only 3 tracks but good quality & more coming

    Isi/397 Open Top historics
-only 3 tracks but are excellent (historic monza/spa/Monaco ) but again good quality ,cars in need of an update though
+surprisingly there’s a few 3rd party tracks like Longford worth adding , historic zands imminent that looks good

Most of the ISI/397 tracks are acceptable , proper laser scanned one coming

I’m also looking for a modern f1 but so far the ones I’ve tried seem dire, might revert to the excellent ISI masters 2012 , but sure how many decent f1 circuits there are at mo

Hopefully rain will be fixed soon too

Once you have it all foaled in it does , I prefer to stick to the fewer higher quality tracks which are mostly isi/397, I find most of the mod ones are poor , quality over quantity is the key for me

Branham BT20 on historic Belgium is a blast -see if you can get in the low 3.30’s !
