I see you're very into precise details what's having an issue on your pc. So instead of shouting, you could go into Devmode, and play with weather conditions on track, say, load in sunny day, turn on the manual wet & damp and see how the road reflections are eating fps. Then repeat, turn off wet and damp, turn on manual rain, and see how the raindrops affect fps. Play with raindrop density and see what happens (raindrops and rainspray effect of other cars are one of most demanding things on my machine). Then load with rain weather, but turn off raindrops, then reflections etc. Then set the time to night and do the same... At least you'll have more precise info of what's causing problems on your pc.
I said it once, and i'll repeat: hopefully S397 can implement a slider for raindrop density ingame. I know it already changes with weather, so let it be relative density, even less raindrops in the small rain, if the percentage is set to low-middle.

This is what I had to do. Sometimes it'll just have to happen.

I must be an easy lay, because I find minimum graphics to acceptable in rf2,not ugly, or that I run minimum though but I have tired it.

Gosh reading that back,I’m suprised I haven’t got a bunch of Ferrell kids with different moms lol

    Hi,
I also have the problem with really low fps when it rains. When it stops or there is no rain the fps is better by far.

I've read a lot of times in this thread to adjust Post processing to low. I wonder where I can find this option in the game. Is that really named post processing or different?

i ll give you a Tip for better fps when raining
there are 3 different weather options for rain
1.first option light rain with clouds
    2.second option heavy rain.....
    3.Storm

the 1st option with light rain is fps friendly
the third option will suck your fps

to set the post processing filters open the 3rd tab that says options when you press the play button from steam opens a window with game buttons and options
just press the options button and up left there an are for video options
    it says "post effects"

    Thank you @mesfigas

I'll check the impact of the different types of rain today :)

It's astonishing that the rain has that much influence on the fps. When I test under dry conditions I really have excellent fps-rates with an average of around 110-140 using the advice we got from the developers for Mid-End PCs. I have a Ryzen 1600 6GB like you, Geforce 1060, 16GB ddr4....

I tested in Silverstone with a really full grid of 41 KI-drivers and the Endurance Mod.

The suprising fact to me is: Even if I play PCars2 with ultra-settings and storm it drops down at 40fps at the lowest and is normally around 44-55 fps. Perhaps Studio 397 can do some further tweaks in the rain. This would be perfect.

It's only been the last year or so where I've been able to run games on full or at least high. Had to run on low for so long I just became used to it.

Yup because the difference between them is density, i.e. number of raindrops in each frame. It would be neat if there was a control in the options, for relative density of raindrops. So you can set up the density, and it affects all rain - from light to storm. I could live with just a couple of raindrops at light rain, if the rainstorm density would be like current light rain.
