Where are you applying this SS please? And how do you do it to 1.6?

There's no red light on that track... but instead there's a little sign on pit exit next to the marshal that says "Pit Open"/"Pit Closed".

    Easy to miss!

And the biggest fact is that i5 second gen doesn't support PCI-E 3.0, which means you have double less PCI-E bus bandwidth available. The results I benchmarked few pages ago on this thread showed a slight reduction in PCI-E usage, but it was still very high when compared to other sims even when in PCI-E 3.0 mode (I bought a PCI-E 3 motherboard so I could finally test the difference myself with the same GPU).

Watch out as increasing the pixel density puts more work on your gpu -but if your gpu can handle it then the extra sharpness in vr is brill

Right click on the steam vr icon
( after steam vr is on & the little vr box is on your monitor )

    A new box will appear
Look for the slider in the options ,
    Easy to find

I am curious about that too.
On my side (GTX 960M) no fps improvement in rain. To be fair it seems less stuttering on same fps.

And I wonder what the numbers would be with Radical GT3.

Yeah okay , i already have that at default 200% . It was the bit where you said x1.6 that made me think there may be an option in game or through file adjustments . Thanks for the reply though :)

    Gosh your using x2 ?
I found over 1.6 visually it didn’t seem to improve much due to the limits of the VR display

I only just got VR working with rF2 after constant issues (you may have read them in here) and am still in testing stage and have just left the SS out of the equation and left it on the default that Steam put in .
I will surely endeavour to lower it if needed but honestly as is with 200% and mostly Full in game and AA x4 i am getting a very smooth fluid rF2 and not only does it drive and feel like the best driving experience i've had to date with or without VR it looks very nice !
Gotta love VR , the great equaliser , lol

Ok, so @Marcel Offermans @Christopher Elliott
Maybe You have any idea, the thing is with those massive sttutering i have already reported. Below are some pics.

    Dx9 cfg

Tip: I could not make a screenshot in dx9, it was doing my windows screen pic.

    Dx11 on 1109 without ctrl+f
    https://imgur.com/a/phIAU2U
https://imgur.com/a/2jmMncl (if u zoom it u can see that this green spike has lower spikes near it)

dx11 on 1109 with ctr+f (there is no those little green spikes, just one and no stuttering)
    https://imgur.com/a/XM7kxcW

    dx11 on 1100 ctrl+f not working
    https://imgur.com/a/7bt6NHa
    https://imgur.com/a/aEr9GOb

I have searched for fixes but nth has worked (core parking, ctrl+tab, prioritizing etc.)
In my opinion it has sth to do with gpu utilization, on dx9 the gpu load was around 30%, on dx11 around 17% :O (sync turn on)

    Spec:
    I5-4670k at 4300
    8gb ram at 2400
    gtx 770 oc
    msi-z87-g43

    EDIT: AC in comparison

I see no turbo boost in rf

Both my cpu and gpu bar have a huge spike 1/4 along the length of the coloured bars, and then no spikes, gpu bar is full, cpu about 1/4 full
Yet I have butter smooth gameplay

Do you have max performance selected in windows power management, windows ten resets it to balanced everytime I start my pc,and if I forget to put on max performance I get stutters in all games

Yep i have, i am sure i have checked already all proposed solutions.
As u can see ac is running without any issue.

Actually i am now almost 100% sure that rf was never forcing turbo boost on my card

Check in detail the max performance energy profile. Make sure the PCI Express->Link State Power Management is set to off. You can reach it from selecting the plan and go to Change advanced power settings.

AC has different requirements to rFactor 2, so saying "this works so why doesn't rf2" is like saying "I can run mine craft but not fallout 4; they're both open world games!"

Man look at gpu utilization, 80% in ac, 17 in rf, turbo boost active in ac, nonactive in rf,

Tried turning off multithreading in bios , I’m sure it’s gave me a performace boost

    Now rfactor2 settings:
    med shadows
Med special effects (what do these do?)

    Looks really really nice

Studio397 are doing a brill job

Rain was hitting performance badly , but then it did before

Actually no, because I rarely drive at night and in rain. But I can make some comparison if you tell me what track/car to use?
