I'm still waiting for the HistorX mod for rF2. Is anyone working on it or have you all forgotten about it?
I, and many others would love nothing more than HistorX on rF2 but I think we have a better chance of racing those cars in real life than in rF2. Sliding that Lotus Cortina around and battling my mate in his Falcon Sprint "Whale" was the most fun I've had in 11 years of sim racing.
I miss the old classics too go back to rF1 occationally to run them. They do feel very dated though, compared to rF2.
Maybe good if were to be done & sold as a an official DLC like Kartsim With a kickback to the original creators ( simbin ? If the still exist ) So it’s official / quality / kept up to date
I was working on the Cortina a few months back. It's working in game, and handles really well, but I had issues with the driver model/steering wheel animations, so haven't finished it. I had the the BMW 2002Ti in game too to give the Cortina some company but never finished that one either. They weren't the HistorX models so looked a lot better. I may finish them soon if I can find an extra few hours in the day, unless someone wants to help finish them off?
Oh man , i saw this a couldn't click fast enough ! Love these old girls . I wish i had been on PC back then ! I think we are pretty lucky with the Aussie Legends Mod .
maybe you can ask to chiefwiggum https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?members/chiefwiggum.45985/ He made 1967 ferrari (and many 1986 f1 cars) Driver model could be similar (?)
A Historix era mod would be more than welcome in rF2. We drove the rF1 version constantly, Rouen, Lienz, Charade and so on. The Alfa was our favourite but a sideways Cortina against a BMW 2002ti would definitely do it. Hope a solution is found !
I would totally pay for it dylbie! And I'm sure others would, too. Right guys? Many of you guys would have the means to even kickstart something.
Thanks Nib, lot's of names in that vid I haven't seen in ages. It definitely was a popular mod, big grid numbers almost guaranteed. That must have been a reverse grid race, I started on the front row.
I discovered this very recently, the Group H mod with some that appears to be a mixture of cars from other mods though not a bad thing as there's no mods to go for IMO. Though I can't download anything as they said they are working to optimize this mod for DX11, therefore not used it, the advertised BHP figures is totally unrealistic (350-390BHP in a Toyota AE86, Opel Manta 400 and Fiat Abarth 131 Rally?)
I know that it is best for income and numbers to make modern popular racing cars, but I'd hope that S397 would consider to make small or medium pack with those or similar cars. It would be absolute dream for rF2, to have at least some more historic cars. Like in the video of HistoricX mod, Jaguar MK1, Lotus Cortina, Mini Cooper, Alpha Romeo GTA.... Wishing, wishing...
i think some HistoricX cars as a package would be great for income and numbers it - it would be a unique selling Point for S397 and there are a lot of People who loved the HistoricX mod/cars... it was one of the top 5 mods in rFactor 1
