Biggest improvement for me is it seems to have finally gotten rid of the wierd pauses and slowdowns I was seeing

I was ready to be disappointed, but I saw an improvement of minimum 10 FPS which is better than nothing I guess. I didn't try with rain, but I tried a race start with 19 AI. I couldn't hit 60FPS, but given that until last Sunday I wasn't hitting 40 FPS... After that, on race conditions I go from 70 to 100 FPS.
Even the oscillations on the Fanatec CSL Elite have decreased: they are still there, but, strangely the FFB is stronger than before, so I might have to tune it furthemore. This confirms that the problem is on your end, not mine.

    Two weird things I noted:
-accelerated time is not as fast as before lol (who cares, but I noticed it)
-onboard seat adjustments range has been cut in half

    i7-4790 @ 3.60 GHZ
    RAM 16 GB
    PCIe interface 3.0 @ 1.1 x16
    GeForce GTX 970
    Multiview: 5760x1080

    I7 8700k@5.0 GHz, 1080 Ti@ 2050 Mhz, Trident Z 32GB@ 4133MHz.
    AMG GT3 at Silverstone 41 AI`s, Triple-screen.
    1011.jpg
There is no reduced PCI-E, CPU, RAM or virtual RAM usage. Buss usage is 20% higher and there is significant FPS drop to high end PC`s.
I have also I7-6950X@5.4Ghz, 64 GB Ripjaws 4@3000 CL15, 1080 Ti SEA HAWK EK X , 3-way SLI but when I am looking performance to this build it is no go to my SLI rig and it seems that me and my rig are running out of years regarding rFactor 2, I was expecting better the this from S397:(

so After a little more testing,it seem my highest fps hasn’t really increased, but my min has,I’m able to run 21 cars with everything on high including op,except for textures which are on max at Silverstone fr3.5 and hold in the 70s fps,on the starting line then goes up around 80-90 after that.
So smooth too now, great work with optimisations

After deleting every rF2 folder ,uninstalling in Steam I have even worse performance to before uninstall ,this update has seemingly done nothing for my PC , I'm totally dissapointed .
Seems to have been a great update for mid and lower teir systems though ,so lucky them I guess .

Have you tried with stock speeds, no overclocking of anything?
I just happened to do fresh OS install last night. All SSD's were wiped in BIOS before OS installed and then only one was plugged in for the OS install.
When I installed Steam and then rF2 I noticed things were reinstalled, car setups, etc.
I then remembered the Steam Cloud save feature.
I wouldn't mind knowing what the Cloud is actually saving and if you don't delete it you most likely aren't getting a proper "clean" install.

We only use the Steam cloud to save your car setups.

For those asking about ATI/AMD video cards...

    i7-4790K
    MSI RX 580 8gb
    LG 34" Ultrawide monitor (2560x1080)
    16gb ram

These are fraps captures. I did one, shut off Fraps, then next lap, enabled again. I took the last enabled lap. I also did one test with official content, then one test with 3rd party content. USF2000 @ Limerock is official. 24 AI

I don't know. You can turn it of in the rF2 steam properties but clearing it, no idea.

    Some tests

    Intel Core i7 3770k @4200mhz, Nvidia 1070GTX @2000mhz
    2133mhz DDR3 16GB,

    5040x1050 multiview

mixed settings between low for reflexions, mid shadow and high track and cars
29 visible cars at the end of silverstone

    EGT 1109 --- 48fps, 71%,GPU load

    EGT1110 --- 66fps, 67% GPU load

    GT3 1109---40fps, 99% GPU load

    GT3 1110---57fps, 99% GPU load

Its a big step vorward, from EGT 48 to 66 fps without increasing GPU load bei round about 70% with a lot of headroom, so the CPU limitation is gone, but as you can see, the GT3 cars are still a problem for the GPU. With the well optimized EGT i get 66 fps with only 67% GPU load and with GT3 i only get 57 fps with 99% GPU load, whats much better than the 40fps with 1109, but i think there is still room for optimization on content side or in handling of higher polycount modells because driving the GT3 in rainy conditions is still a big problem in vr.

But yet the step is a really big one and the best sim is still getting better

    From the release notes:
In the graphics department we are looking at some improvements on how our rain effects look on external cameras, as well as fixing an issue that specifically affects VR in rainy conditions.

Thank you S397. Downloaded and gave it a quick test. Can't see a huge improvement in frame rate but it was already pretty stable at 90 for me (Oculus VR) I did notice that the stutter did not show, so GREAT WORK :D
Will give a more thorough test in due coarse but so far so good.
    Thanks again.

Great FPS improvement on my machine. But had to disable the "Agressive Threading" in the Video Settings and to remove the +FullProc from the command line arguments. Otherwise rF2 was stuttering like hell, even the FPS were above 140.

I really like the new delta best in the new HUD.
Would be very helpful to have some green and purple sub-sector display as well :

Keep up the great work. ;)
