Side question/offtopic: what settings you use in R3E to get 90FPS? R3E runs worse than rF2 in VR no matter what I do, so curious what am I missing?

    Glad it works better :)

    this is a pretty lame answer from marcel on discord concerning VR users and the need for lock to horizon;

the only "workaround" I know is drive slower cars or soften your suspension

That's what a workaround is, you workaround the problem/issue and he provided one. FYI he also said in the RD Live stream a while ago that they are working on Lock To Horizon, but until then workarounds will be the only way.

[QUOTE = "MarcG, post: 930555, membro: 22888"] Rispetto ad altri Mods sì, sono più pesanti delle prestazioni, ma posso correre con 19AI praticamente (dal solito 29AI con altri mod). [/ QUOTE]
Same problem, I think it's due to the new graphics and weather / rain

I already ordered the oculus rift and now I’m planning to order a new pc for oculus rift.
Is cpu i5 enough for oculus or I need i7?
The GPU, 4GB will be sufficient for oculus rift or I need 5,6,7?
    Please, help me . Thank

I've got a i5 6600k and feel the need (badly) for a 7700k but also feel that my16GB 2400MHz RAM is holding me back badly .
As for VRAM , who knows , i haven't had an issue with 11GB's , lol

This thread has grown too big to read it completely.

My concern has probably commented so excuse me for not digging in the thread.

I am very happy with the perfomance with my new PC + DK2 rift. I have had zero issues with it and my laptimes and consistency have gotten stronger.

However, during races I am a bit lost. I cannot properly see my and others' position in the hud (blue and red circles) and the labels don't work with TAB. To look at the hud I have to force my eyes to bottom left corner where the sharpness is worst due to the optics.

    My questions:

    1. Is there any VR HUD where the information is more clear for VR users?

    2. Is there any solution or planned workaround for labels?

    3. I have read about Crew Chief. Do you recommend it over the HUD option?

    Thanks in advance.

I use the Wedge HUD for the moment, the Side version:
    http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=631378778&searchtext=wedge

The latest SMG HUD with VR variant is more complete, but need some adjustment I think in the position of the messagebox & information box at the bottom : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1126218272&searchtext=hud

I use it for sure, and it's interesting because it add information when driving and avoid to check on the several widgets of the HUD for some basic informations, it's safer to hear instead of moving head to check the HUD and loose the track vision.

I can highly recomment Crew Chief. I don't use huds at all anymore.

I am looking for some help in optimizing my Rift setup. But it's daunting to try to read through nearly 50 forum pages!
Is there any summary of best settings for the current DX11 build? I realize it will depend on computer hardware, but perhaps there could be a summary table for high, mid, low spec computers showing best settings for Rift?
    (sorry if I'm being lazy!)

Difficult to tell you the best settings. Every PC handle it different. Also it depends on the mod and tracks you are driving. Some require more power other less. For now i would turn of the last 3 settings in your graphic menu ( Sun occulusation, ambient reflections ect if iam not wrong ). Else just wait for the performence update mentioned in the roadmap. Dont take to long anymore and will change the possibility of the graphic settings anyway.

Really confused why people really want lock to horizon? What impact does it have? Your view doesn't move up and down but the car does? That sounds horrible.

It does help to have less motion sickness with VR. In AC driving without lock to horizon option gives me some nausea.

It looks weird when the world outside bounces around when in VR, I'd actually like a mix where my virtual head moves with the car a bit.
