So I've been thinking about entering the sim-racing world and I've been looking at some second-hand wheels in my country. I have a few choices. Can anyone help me decide which one to choose? I'm only a 15 year old kid using mum's money. I need a force-feedback wheel.
Ionly have about 5000 pesos (around 100$ to spend)

First choice: Logitech Driving Force GT Problem: Seller won't reply to my messages nor answer my calls
    [IMG]
Second choice: Logitech g920 Problem: double the price of my other choices
    [IMG]
Third choice: Logitech Driving Force Problem: only 180-degrees of rotation
    [IMG]
Fourth choice: Hori steering wheel 3 Problem: Unclear specs; not sure if it has ffb or adequate range of rotation

Fifth choice: Icore steering wheel Problem: Unclear specs; not sure if it has ffb

Honestly, I think a starting wheel for the starter would be the G27. but it all depends on the financial condition.

Google says Hori only does vibration feedback, I'm guessing the last one is the same. That's console controller style feedback, where the wheel can be made to shake, but doesn't actually give you feedback. Avoid those.

You also don't want 180 degrees of rotation.

Remaining Logitech wheels are a good starter, G920 is fine (basically the same as G27, though driver support isn't as good). Logitech wheels may generally have trouble automatically adjusting rotation but that's only a minor annoyance if you can get them cheap.

Not that familiar with the DFGT pedals but G920 ones should be pretty good (again G27 spec), you may need to clean the potentiometers when they're second hand. G920 may seem expensive but you can use that for years, and if you get more serious you can get something better then. Go cheaper and you'll want something else in 3 months.

Thanks. I'll try to save up some for for the g920. I currently have 4,000 php (75$) saved up and the g920 costs around 7,000 php (130$) hopefully no one snags the deal before I get money to buy it.

Get a job and pay for it yourself. Tell your mother to take her $100 and buy herself a new dress.

second hand logitech wheel will work fine.
i used to play for almost 4 years with a logitech wingman ffb wheel wich goes for about 30 euros used.
this game is amazing even with an old wheel.
like most ppl say a logiteck G25 second hand wheel will work perfect

I started with a DFGT. Served me fine.

If you were in the UK I'd happily sell you mine as I've since upgraded.

Logitech wheels are made to last, I do not remember how old my G27 is that I still use and before we used a Momo for many years.
Don't worry, we would all like a FREX or equivalent but we all have to start somewhere.
The best advise I read was DFGT, G25 or G27 but make sure the pedals are in good order.
The G25 could be a bit old though.
Good luck finding a wheel and hope you are on track soon :)

If you are going to buy a used G27, make sure the encoder has been replaced. The biggest problem with the G27 though, (I have 2 sitting out in the garage keeping my old Momo and Sidewinder company) is the pedal pots. They are cheap rubbish and very hard to find replacements for.
