    Hi,

A couple of months ago there has been an update which has made everything brighter. For some tracks it doesn't really bother me, but others are just too bright to race on. It's like a very high contrast.

Some of my older tracks are really blindingly bright which is very unfortunate.
My brother (who also has rFactor 2) has the same problem since this update.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to turn it back to normal?

    Thanks in advance

For me, even the non dx11 track content is good visually (brightness, exposure, contrast).

    For this I am happy.

Ah so that's it! So the tracks which are too bright for me are just not updated for DX11. Does this mean I will get to drive my old tracks unless I use sunglasses? :( Or are there settings I can change to make it more acceptable?

    Thanks for your quick reply

You can change picture settings with your gpu driver or TV/monitor. With good settings, it could be better for you.

All textures that were originally used for a LDR environment (light was baked into textures), won't look correct in a full HDR enviro. Always been like that, with the difference that now the tone mapper is not clamping as before (to avoid dull and flat shading), so there is less tolerance for LDR textures.

To quickly solve the problem, you can ask the authors to batch all textures to reduce the main output levels from 255 to 190/200. Using photoshop, this would take 20 minutes plus the time to repackage the tracks.
