As it is, it's a bit of a jumbled mess. Other games categorise everything so you can easily find popular mods of that category. S397 case is a bit different since the whole game is basically mods, so I would propose that all S397 mods be in a separate category. I mean when you're looking for the most popular mod track, you don't want to see S397's Lime rock because by default you already have it. So I would propose the following categories: -S397 -Cars -Tracks -skins -huds -plugins There's a already a thread on steam about this but I'm hoping if I make one here, the devs will see it and do something about it. Please +1 this if you agree or add your own suggestions if you'd like this implemented.
+1 On the S397 category it doesn't even show if your subscribed or not. You have to open it to see. http://steamcommunity.com/id/studio-397/myworkshopfiles/
Don't mind waiting if the devs have this as an issue on their radar. Threads like this serve the purpose of alerting them to improvements that could be made.
I am very much for this idea. But here some suggestions to the proposal: There are no plugins on the workshop so the category is not needed. S397 is in my opinion not needed, as I do not see a huge advantage in having tracks and cars not show up in the tracks and cars category, because they are in the official content category, and making content able to be in multiple category's defeats the purpose of this category. But there should be an easier way in finding the official content in the workshop. The HUD category could be renamed to others, as we have fairly few HUDs on the workshop, also with the new UI will make them obsolte, so the other category would fit them fine. Skins is actually a brilliant idea, as with that all those leagues dumping there Skin Packs to advertise there league would be stored in one place, not taking away visibility from original work. This brings up the question of banning certain content, that is derivative in nature. Because with skin packs you upload not only the changed textures, but also the original content. Personally, I think putting it into it's own category will be enough.
Are the HUDs going to be obsolete? There has been an improvement of the HUD system in the last release. A this moment the HUDs are being revised and there are news too. I think that the HUDs category would be important.
gets my vote, so many other Steam games I play have their Workshop content organised into different sections so it's about time RF2 got with the program.
