So when i got RF2 ON STEAM it went onto my c: drive, that getting full and would like it on my d: drive as loads of space... so i tried to move files via steam but then game does not work..
So can i uninstall RF2 and re install on d: drive without having to purchase again?
Is that possible or any other tips?
    cheers.

You can uninstall any game on steam and it will still remain in your library. I would just uninstall by right clicking it in the steam library, then reinstall it and change the location to the D drive. Unsure if there's an easier way.

Right click on the game in steam, properties, local files, move install folder.

What he said. I had to shift FSX and Arma 3 across for this reason. No need to uninstall, it just moves it as if you would drag and drop it.

1 - Move your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ folder that contains your games to a new folder 'Steam' i.e. D:\Steam
    2 - Copy Steam.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\
    3 - Paste Steam.exe in D:\Steam\
    4 - Open D:\Steam\Steam.exe
5 - Let it install remaining files
6 - Viola moved and games are now run from D:\Steam\Common\

I have a similar setup for Games I have on a backup drive that when I want to play them just plug in the backup drive and launch Steam.exe from there

@Bringmetheapex&bwana -The method Coutie & AMillard suggest, is the easiest process, baked into Steam.
Open Steam>Library>Games>rFactor2(right click for dropdown menu)>Properties>Local Files>Browse Local Files- choose what drive to move to>Verify files That's the most efficient way I've discovered. Perhaps the "in process?" Manual will clarify/verify?

    Likewise.
These step needs to be completed before the option becomes available:
    1. Navigate to your Steam client 'Settings' menu.
    2. Select 'Steam Library Folders' from the 'Downloads' tab.
    3. From here, you can view your default installation path, as well as creating a new path by selecting 'Add Library Folder'.
    4. Once you have created the new path, all future installations can be installed there (you can right-click on one of the paths to set it as a default).
