What are the priorities for Rfactor2 Dx11 HUD update?

    In the recent November 2017 Road Map, S397 indicated they were planning Dx11 hud updates that would add some of the plugin options left behind with the end of DX9 support.

    As input I would suggest these are my priorities in order of importance:

    1) Delta Best lap

    2) Gap to me table from track map

    3) sector: 1,2,3,virtual personal time compared to fastest from track map from track map

    4) extra car icon with tyre/oil/water temperatures from track map

    5) Rain/track temp/wet on/wet off from track map

    6) Cursoradar

    7) Brake info from track map

    8) Traction circle from track map

    9) Option for analog dial rpm readout

    Just my opinion on what I find useful.

    I'm HOPING a TrackMap style fuel calculator is there (litres/gallons remaining, laps and time remaining). That's the only thing I really want to see given some mods have the fuel off. Put thirty laps of fuel in but when you finish it turns out you had enough to complete forty five.

    I've replaced TrackMap with Crew Chief (less on screen clutter and I run as little as possible for realism. Yes, I'm one of those!), but since I use WedgeHUD the fuel is not included on the tyre map like it is on the default, so to have those back in an updated form would be beneficial as those were the ONLY things I had on screen. I guess the rain on-off line bit would be useful too. I'm not the best in the world so I haven't driven in the rain in DX11 because I've not had that.

    Tl;dr- Those are the only two bits I think are musts.

    I'd like it to be modular as well. Keep what you want, turn off the stuff you don't need.

    Fuel remaining time is my most wanted feature, but i miss trackmap overall functions...

    TrackMap was nice because you could pick and chose what you want and move it where you want, which is something other HUDs won't let you do.

    Crew Chief can give you that information verbally. IT will calculate the number of laps remaining on your fuel load, or tell you how many litres per lap you are burning off.

    I will have to look for that in the crewchief functionality. It would also be nice if themcrewchief, could give a recommendation for the final fuel fill of a race!

    I haven't used this particular command yet, but this might meet your needs:
    "Calculate fuel for [X minutes / laps] / how much fuel do I need for [X minutes / laps] / how much fuel for [X minutes / laps]" (estimates how much fuel you'll probably need for this many minutes or laps)

    They already mentioned time delta will be there. Basics for me are FFB clipping meter mentioned by Marc, plus tire wear and fuel consumption (we shouldn't have to rely on Crew Chief for this).

    This is one of the those many things I wish S397 was more open about in their communication....makes me wonder about the relevance of the general discussion section of this forum as I never see anyone from the dev team chiming in or giving answers to anything. It's always a back and forth between users and threads getting lost in oblivion.

    Even if they put this in the HUD I will still use CC for it, less clutter. That's just my opinion though. :)

    It's cool having it in Crew Chief but I doubt everyone uses the app 100% of the time....at least I don't. And there are certainly people who don't use it at all.

    As VR user, i need move the position of the tyre and chat screen, fuel, break and oil temperature olso need. Finally ffb cliping to check the wheel with new staff

    As far as I understood it, these new HUD items that would first arrive would be based on existing HUD tech, which is immovable. I could be wrong, but I think their new HUD system is not what was meant by this announcement, it's something that comes later (hopefully).

    It's alright we do listen:)

    For the HUD our challenge is we want to bring in new technology to make it easier to build and future proof it, currently we have to use the old tech which is a little tricky to update. Regardless, we are working to get something cool to you - though looking at this thread there are quite a few requests!

    Are drivers able to view tyre wear in car in rl,I thought they had to return to the pits to get this data,if that’s correct I can do without tyre wear in the hud,but a native ffb and pedal input display is a must for me

    Have it like the original HUD: Tyres with fuel above it, but make it more streamlined like WedgeHUD.

    I have the standings up for the benefit of my viewers so they can see where their favourite drivers are, and then flick to tyres/damage for a heads up every so often.

    Being able to move it is a must for me though.
