Need some step by step help....... if possible. I've been racing with iRacing for over a year and a half, and have never run into problems, graphically, even with a full field on the track. But with rFactor, I can't even figure out how to get it to run on all 3 of my monitors. When I go into settings, inside the game. My resolution, doesn't even show up as an option. I've downloaded SoftTH, and place the d3d9.dll in the location C:\Program Files (x86)\rFactor2\Bin32\Plugins. Is this correct? Why can't I get the interface to stretch across all 3 monitors?
Put it in bin64, unless you are running 32bit, which is not the default. You also might need the 64bit softth, but you may have it already. After that, it should work. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
Are you using nvidea surround or amd eyefinity? if your tripple screen resolution is available in Windows screen setup it should be available in Iracing, AC, project cars, RRRE, AMS, rFactor and rFactor 2
Why use SoftTH ? nvidea surround or amd eyefinity is the way to go. If your GFX does not support either then it's prob. too old to even run RF2 on tripples anyway.
View attachment 20957 Here is what my settings look like. I tried getting a screen shot of the game opened, but it didn't work. When the game opens, it's only on the center screen. When I put it into "Windowed" Mode, I can only stretch it as far as the center screen.
@Zale0130 You need to setup nV Surround or Eyefinity first. Then a correct resolution will show up in rFactor 2 and all should work then. SoftTH is an option but not recommended, if you can set those from above.
I use softth. Nvidia surround places the main screen on my left monitor, and I don't want to have to look over there for everything else. Maybe this has changed since I last tried it though. Make sure you set your graphics options in the game. For me, it only works if I do it like that.
A few options with nivia surround: - You can set you windows desktop resolution to 1920x1080. It will use the centerscreen only. (Is what i have, because i loos to much time looking for the mouse cursor ) - You can move your desktop icons and the taskbar to the middle screen. - i'm not sure but i think you can create 3 desktops for each screen.
Nvidia hasn't yet fixed the issue of the Start menu being on the left monitor. You can however, have the taskbar on the centre. It's a stupid bug but I'd personally rather live with it than have to deal with SoftTH.
I think the Problem is that he have a Intel HD Graphic , if my eyes have seen this correct on the screenshot
Alright, this is starting to piss me off. So here is the text from my config.SoftTHconfig file, in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64, Folder. Got it. I figured since I was setting the res., in the text file, that I didn't have to do that. So, we are all good now. Thanks so much.
Hi, I'd like to follow up on this thread. I have been using SoftTH for a bit with rF1. I have just installed rF2, and got SoftTH to partially work. I'd like to get softTH to work properly. And I can't use Eyefinity or nVidia since I have an old Intel based graphic card setup (which by the way works awesome right out of the box with iRacing...). With rF2 and softTH is that, I can get the 3 screens to work while I am in the setup menus. The 3 screens even work when the track screen is displayed. However the 3 screens do not work as soon as I jump in the car (i.e. once the track is loaded and once I'm in the pits). Rather what happens is that the track loading screen seems to stay on top of the pit screen. I know that because I can hear the different SFX of the mouse cursor going over the menu items in the pit screen. And so how to fix this? Is it that the game switches to a different resolution (and how to fix this)? Or an issue with SoftTH? Or somehow I need to shift focus to the pit screen? Thanks, JS
In rFactor 2\UserData, there is a file called Config_DX11.ini. In that, you can set a custom resolution, so you don't need SoftTH anymore. The line is: CustomVidRes=(5760, 1080), you set it to what you want.
Well this could be dynamite if I don't have to use softTH Eh! Thanks for the heads up! I will give it a try tonight.
