In 2009, GM spent several months working on shocks, and gearing and engine tuning for .. the Corvette? They posted a respectable time of 7:13xx. A few weeks later, in the space of half a day, a privately owned Viper hit 7:12 and that became the start of a production car rivalry. Only a few cars bested that time by the Viper until this last year. A Viper ACR hit 7:01 and the Lambo HURACĂN bested the Porsche 918 and Lambo's larger Avendator to reach the amazing time of 6:52. I suspect even a Turbo'd Corvette would fall short of those times.
