Today went to start rf2 haven't changed a thing from last start up and this is happen. rFactor 2 is attempting to launch with optional parameters below " +path=".." " If you did not request this launch or do not understand these options, select Cancel. So I have selected cancel nothing works so I then selected ok and nothing happens also. So I uninstalled rf2 completely than reinstalled and the same thing is happening. Like I said I have not change a thing from logging in 3 day ago.
Try to manually check steam is fully updated, then also try going to the executable file's properties and selecting run as admin. Try also holding your tongue against the the inside of your right cheek when clicking. This happens a lot, in many games. Searching for "is attempting to launch with" will finds you heaps of examples. Usually seems kind of random and sorts itself out.
I was starting from steam and also from desktop short cut. So what I have managed to fix it by doing the following. I deleted the desktop shortcut and made steam create one. I use to created the shortcuts from the steam apps/common/rfactr2/launcher.. This may help others if they come across this problem. Thanks.
Well I thought it was fixed but it just started to happen again and I have not even turn the computer off. I just tried to do single player race and it just goes back to the launcher.
I had a Problem like this too. In my case it helps to unklick "Run as admin" to the steam/rf2/bin64/rf2.exe. maybe you can give it a try.
hi been following as my similar post got no reaction at all. cut and paste same no change but de selecting run as admin for 64bit exe in compatibility and so far got in x2 so now goin to redo all mods .
happens to me when if start the game from Sim Commander interface. i had to edit and erase"-silent" from the game parameters in Sim Commander.
I also do this all the time with the interface Sim Commander. I solved the problem temporarily by launching the steam interface first and then Sim Commander who referred me to steam. I click on RF2 in steam and there the game launches.
