Hello! Could some 3dmax expert help me to finish the 1979 mod? They dont show back of the car but front of the car.. 2)Black boxes appering randomly. They seems to be that thing that prevents you looking thought the body, but now that thing comes thought the body!! About that mirror bug.. I tried to edit the cockpit info, but was not able to turn it and make it look back (only side,up or down) Then I tried to rescale the text scale U and scale V, but it only flipped it upside down or from side to side.. That black thing coming thought the body is so same material as the suspension parts, brake coolers etc.. so I cannot just delete it... Hopefully somebody could help. Make sure you are using a negative number in the last number of "MirrorPos" in the cockpit.ini. If it is a positive number it will show what is in front instead of behind.
I have -0,38 now. Well sadly I dont know how to fix that.. Well should be possible, but Im really bad with this kind of stuff. So hoping to find somebody more skilled.
bit of update: Raising the car height seemed to help with that black thing atleast for some cars. Will keep testing more.
Check the pivot rotations on your mirrors (xform in 3dsmax?). How have you set your uvmaps for the mirrors? It is not normals because if it was then you could not see the mirror surface at all. Is that blackbox set up under your uprights in gen by any chance? You want it under your body id

I don't have 3dsmax or 3dsimed. If you just follow this your mirrors should work I think: http://historicgt.fr.yuku.com/topic/2669/How-to-correctly-map-mirrors-for-rFactor-using-3DS-Max Also check your pivot rotations (and scaling as well) and make sure they are in correct directions.

I just want to confirm you're not using a comma in the cockpit ini are you? -0,38 should be -0.38 Maybe I am wrong about the positive number. Maybe it has something to do with the position of the model and the MirrorPos numbers combined. I would try a really large negative number just to cross that off the list.
High negative numbers dont seem to work. Mirrors still looks forward and sometimes show some offmap thing in mirrors too with large number.. Im not using comma. Just my typo sorry. Thanks for help toebee!
Okey this sounds very weird, but I just replaced the old rf1 damage file with one I used in 1975 mod and mirrors works(?)
Try To MIX with What I've already Done... Can't remember if this black mark was present in my mod don't think so. But You have to select this "back" poly and lower them about 1mm it is maybe enought... Don't know if it's possible or not on 3d simed. Good luck ...
Mirrors seem to pivot around the centre of the car, just mess with the numbers and you'll get the right view. It will just take a lot of trial and error.
