I have a lifetime subscription, but I went to get on today and says I have to send in subscription or I will not be allowed entry as mine has run out and needs renewal . When you look up accounts it has lifetime ticked
Subscriptions were abolished by S397 after taking over from ISI so you should not need any subscription at all. I take it that you never transferred your game over to Steam? Unfortunately, if you have not, then you have missed the cut-off date to do so for free.
No he had changed over to steam and is a life member, he is unable to launch steam on line it tells him his subscription has run out. He should not have to pay again.
As you say, he is unable to lauch Steam online. That is the Problem. Without having Steam running (except you run it in offline Mode), you get ignored by Steam and the old ISI Subscription Screen appears. Try running Steam in offline Mode, if possible. Or, as best, find a Way to run Steam online and login before you start rFactor2.
If that's the case, file bug report and I'm sure Christopher Elliott from S397 is going to support you. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?forums/bug-reports.141/
