    Hello, I bought rFactor 13/10/2013.
I haven't played it since, but I'd like to get back to it.
How do I get the game now that it's only on steam?
I should be able to get a gamekey so I can activate it, right?

Sadly you cant, there was a 12 month window to upgrade/change over, with around 6 months notice that it would no longer be supported. As the game is now in the property of another developer you have to buy it on steam (However its quite cheap) and there is no longer subscription / liftetime. The once off purchase is now lifetime.

You can get the game here:

The good news is it had 2.5 years of development since you last played it, with some good progress made in various areas including physics.

Ah there are still threads popping up. Still no decent* reply from the developers.

    * Decent = f.e. a reimbursement for the legacy fans. Way to leave your fans out in the cold.

I bet you buy at least 2 new games a year don't you,so what's the big deal, for people who haven't played it for that amount of years,it would be like getting a new game, things could be worst you know,it could have an iracing price model,or they could charge you for rf2 rf3 each year.
I'm betting they even sent you an email to notify you of the change over,it's not their fault you ignored it

I'm sure they can sort this out for you. Just wait for a weekday when they are in the office.

Developer change. It cost me about a bag of crisps and a soda when Steam had the % off (which they have often) so there is no excuse if you are a sim-guy(?) to leave rF2 out and continue to be mad about it.

Shell out a small portion of cash to get one of the best sims and be happy
or buy a bag of crisp, a soda and stay mad forever?
(wish i had a smiley doing weighing motions with its hands). :D

your in the best position possible. you can download the latest non steam version which will be a more developed version
then the one you used prior totally free of cost

or/and then buy at a bargain price the rfactor2 version from the new developer that is dx11 and developed even further
& is continued to be ( I'm looking at it really as rfactor 3 )

    win - win either way

For someone its soda and crisps and for someone its few days of work. Who knows which country that guy lives.
On another hand we have s397, they did a lot of work already so giving copy for free is not a option too.
But one thing i can agree - steam sale. Even for me with 50% off its only one day of work.

Please can you elaborate on this?
I see a price of 30 EUR so 50% off would be 15 EUR.

I am just curious. I dont know what are average salaries in other countries.

To be precise its $19 for my region, 50% its $9.5
For example my salary is around €200-240 per month or €10-12 per day, i believe its average for my country, but in villages its even less by half maybe.
    Сrisps cost less than €1;)
Until you live alone its okeish, but once you have family, kids, every coin is a pain in the ass.
But as i said - €10 for the best sim is a fair price, just need to wait sale)
