Helo, I am having issues with VR since the "last stable" was removed Rfactor crashes like 90% of the times while starting, and the other 10% I have no FFB. It is not the same as the former FFB issue, because in that case the wheel was hard all the time. Now the wheel is completely lose. If I try to put steam on VR mode before hitting the multiplayer button, then Rfactor crashes like 99% of the times. I have been able to make it work only once. Resolution is 1080 I have try full screen and windowed. No post efects It was working fine on Tuesday. YoNiS
Same thing here. I just bought the game today because of the VR support and someone on Simracing reddit was recommending it as an alternative of iRacing I tried without VR and works but tried with VR on and every single try it crashes when loading the Single Player mode. Tried Window, Full Screen 1080 both 50Hz and 60Hz. Tried post effects from None to High. Running Windows 10 latest updates installed. Nvidia 1080 with latest drivers.
Got it working! On rFactor 2 Properties on Steam, in General disable the option Use Desktop Game Theather while SteamVR is active. That made it work for me.
That is not working for me. Every time I launch the rfactor 2 launcher and then enable SteamVR everything starts to slow down, even the mouse stops moving some times, like if there was a I/O bottleneck. And if I do not run SteamVR the game works, but FFB is realy realy low, and the FFB multiplier does nothing.
Are you running Avast Anti-virus? I got those exact slowdowns as soon as SteamVR started, took me ages to figure it out but eventually it was Avast that was causing it so I uninstalled it and everythings fine now. If now try disabling whatever anti-virus software you have just to see if that helps.
There is at the moment Massive Worldwide Hacking Attack which Knocks Out PCs at Hospitals, Governments and also we common users are under attack. Just turn off you Anti-virus and non working VR is no problem any more, Good luck
Thanks for the help MarcG, you are right, that was Avast Antivirus. Its really strange, because the issue only happens when Rfactor window is in focus, if the focus is in the desktop or elsewhere, everything looks ok, but ones you hit the launcher, all becomes weird. Also disabling Avast from Avast Icon, does no change anything. But there is one thing that does work, if you open windows services, stop Avast Service, run rfactor launcher, run steamVR, then run multiplayer, then you can start Avast service again, and everything works fine. Hope this helps some to. Regards
