Ive created 3 grabs of the same angle of a car in the showroom. They are AA x3 and fxaa - x4 and fxaa - x5 and fxaa. they all look the same?! lol just for anyone bother to go over x3 - theres no point
theres no much difference between landscape shots. and in my experience aa. doesn't get better the nearer you are.
Yeah there is no difference above level 3, also tested it on landscape shots. Also no frame rate drop above level 3 so values 3-5 are all level 3 technically.
the fact that there is little to no FPS drops says to me nothing else is being added to the images regarding AA> surely>?
Big difference between 1 and 5 when your moving. Performance I can't tell, but visually I can tell, especially in VR.
The post was about 3,4,5. Maybe if you tested between them there would be no difference when moving. 1 and 5 of course will have big difference. And in this case according to OP 1 and 3 should look the same as 1 and 5.
nope ... the OP saw no difference between AA levels 3, 4 & 5 and that's what I could confirm in an earlier built, but despite no visual difference, I saw performance differences between those three, where L3 was fastest, L4 being slowest and L5 in between those two.
if u r on a desktop you can enlarge those pics above. Start on bottom one. It will then overlap so the bottom left wingplate is only in view. U can count the same amount of jagged edges there are.
Those three pics are not the best examples, because they are lacking detail. I made some screenshots while standing in the box with fences, guardrails etc. in the background and saw no difference between L3, L4 & L5 at all.
I get ya. I was looking for clean white edges. The bloom has sorta undermined my experiment Vo. What is with the excessive bloom.in showroom anyhow?
Right, so 1 and 3 & 1 and 5 look no different but there is a FPS difference. I just pointed out the fact that he tested differently from what you posted about. No other intentions with my post.
Rouge22 did. You mentioned 3,4,5 and he said there is a big difference between 1 and 5. Of course there is, lol.
What I was getting at is I did test them all, I and there is difference between the levels including 3,4,and 5. The aliased image gets reduced as the levels go up, perhaps it more noticeable in VR than on a screen is why. I haven't tested Rfactor 2 on my monitor so my post is probably irrelevant. What I should have said was big difference stepping up from 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Clear enough for you?
I also see diff at 3,4 and 5 with Rift, TitanXP and I5@4,2Ghz - drive supersampling 1.5, posteffekts high, ingame all high exept shadows
