    Hi Guys

Having some issues with rFactor2 there is/was two actually.

First one, I lost all my base race series/events ..but support eventually informed me that the events/series where removed with last update.

Onto my second one ..this actually happened suddenly, one minute the game was launching with no problems and then not.

It starts minimised on the task bar and when I right click it, it fails to open and gives me this message....

"this application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows"

Have other Steam games that run with no problems, have deleted rFactor2 several times to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Simple first question, have you tried re-booting your PC?

Do you mean uninstall / reinstall thru Steam, or you actually deleted files/directories?
If so, what did you delete?

Go to the rFactor support (?) folder and run the vcredist files.
Not at my computer so that's the best I can offer.

Forgot to mention, I also carried out a "system restore" today so its nothing that I have installed that has broken it.

How are you starting rFactor 2? Via desktop shortcut?

Just by name in the error message, wild guess, do you have rFactor 2\Launcher\Plugins\platforms\qwindows.dll file present?

Im not an expert but this tells me (if you eliminated any trace of the software trough an uninstall program)that the problem is in your windows installation.

    Found one solution:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE\Binaries\Redist and re-install the launcher using InstallHirezService.exe. That fixed it for me.
    http://forums.smitegame.com/showthr...-Qt-platform-plugin-quot-windows-quot-missing
    InstallHirezService.exe <maybe this

    or what cristopher said:
The same problem came to me, you need to open it via steam and it will be alright.

Maybe reinstalling also that vcredist software?
