Sounds like you trying to install a rF1 track into rF2. Not possible. Never saw a "crystal palace" track for rF2 anywhere....
Did you read my post? For cockpit view cycle through "del" or "insert" keys.

I need an acronym buster first!
    ISI?
    Clios?
I still know ten times more about this game than I did this time yesterday thanks to you lot!

As I suspected. I won't waste any more time with that one then.
I read all of your posts and delete didn't work. I was expecting a single key press.

    Small steps...

    Hi Baldeagle611,
The lack of documentation is terrible but luckily we have these forums.
I took the time to list the Controls Menu in a Word document which I have attached.
Ignore the inputs as these I filled in for my G27, just delete them and add your own.
Good luck and most of all, enjoy our favourite sim soon to be upgraded by Studio-397 !

I've got many games on steam that never came with a manual, I miss the days of opening the games box and sniffing the fresh pages!

But alas there's plenty on the net for RF2 including these forms :)

Really? It's crazy! Even the ZX Spectrum games came with an inlay card with instructions. I can't stop think of the original Formula 1 Grand Prix by Microprose and the excellent manual that came with it. Sorry, showing my age a bit there.

Ah the smell of fresh Litho ink...

Hmmm not many would know that term without some experience! How about Heidelberg?

Used them; platten and cylinder models.

Solid machines! I ran the first 102 12 colour in the southern hemisphere. Perfecting 6 on 6 if that means anything

Indeed it does! Perhaps I can typeset this damn manual and you can print it for them! (joke)
We're going a bit off topic here. Wondering whether to ditch this game and get the original RFactor instead. It seems a lot more moddable. What do y'all reckon?

Get rFactor as well(cheap ). can never have too many sims and its still a good game but I bet after awhile you will load rf2 again.. BTW Clio is a small Renault ,popular for short circuit racing in Europe mainly(front whell drive) . ISI is Image Space Incorporated a Clio race at Mills(official ISI track) from 2015 . a few builds ago so different lighting effects. (googled it up )

Thanks. I actually didn't think you meant the Renault Clio car!

You said you are a Mac Boy, are you using the MAC keyboard ?
If yes, the mac keyboard doesn't have a INSERT key in it, so you need to rebind the key for the default driving camera. I bind it on "=" myself
    Hope that help

It certainly does! I'm using Bootcamp. That's a very good tip.

    That is exactly that.
You need to rebind the driving camera or to use a new PC keyboard
That will fix your problem :)

I think you're right. I was labouring under the assumption that the mac keyboard had equivalents with the alt key. I do have an old PC keyboard so I'll try that. This is probably why I'm having trouble with Cliffs of Dover too, but that's for another forum...

    Small steps... small victories...

I just go into settings and re-bind all the keys to the same as i have in other Sims , never use default layout . It's a really simple task , just go in to settings and click on , say throttle and push whatever you want to be throttle , then do brakes then steering and work your way down till you get all buttons mapped to what your comfortable with .
I use a keyboard as a button box , i used a label maker to label buttons with abbreviations (SF-seat foward ,SB-seat back , so on) . You dont need to map all commands just the ones you need . I don't map swing cam for excample but just use F1 through F9 for all my different cams , So that shows there are 9 different camera buttons all with numerous cam angles .
Dont give up on this Sim , it really is worth effort . Also it is getting a Big update at the start of next month so the UI (User interface) is going to look a lot more user friendly (supposedly).
Oh , and the Ai (absolute idiots) oh no i mean (artificial intelligence)(other cars) are the best in the Sim world (subjective) so if your into single player, find a balance for the three Ai settings and you will have a blast .

Thanks people for all your help. I finally had some SERIOUS fun tonight. I drove a Honda Civic round the Mills track to get the feel of it. Tried all sorts of car/track combinations and finished up on the old 1960s Monte Carlo circuit driving driving a sports car with all the graphic settings maxed up full. Awesome!
I used an old windows keyboard too but keep that one to yourself.
