    Hello,
I'm backing up files for a new OS install and am looking for the file location for recent vehicle setups, to save. Since moving to Steam, they don't seem to be in the typical location rFactor2/userdata/player/settings. Thanks for the help, cheers!

If you previously had rFactor 2 installed away from Program Files, you might now find your files are somewhere in your Documents folder. You could search for .svm and probably find them that way, if nothing else.

ckmackey, They will be in: /Steam/steamapps/common/rfactor2/userdata/player/settings

Lazza, I have never had rF1 or rF2 (with and without Steam) installed in Program Files.
In fact I never have had it on C: drive and rF never used the Documents folder.
Looking forward to you pointing out something else I don't know or haven't experienced because of my methods. :D

@ADSTA I always installed it on another drive as well, so I never had that happen. But I did see people talking about that sort of thing so I knew it happened ;)

And my most recent steam installation went to program files, but I don't have UAC enabled, so I still don't know if that's all it would take lol

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case!

Ahhh, I forget about the UAC.
I turned that annoyance off straight after Windows was installed.
Even with UAC off, some games use the Documents folder to store user data.
I suppose it's how the game is coded as to if it uses the Documents folder.
