Hello all, i am in an online racing league for rfactor 2, and i can't connect to a certain server. I have already determined that it is not the issue of the server, since everyone else but me can connect to it. I tried uninstalling the game, disabling firewall, nothing works. if anyone ca help me, that would be awesome.
If I'm not mistaken you click on the big vertical bar on the right of the screen that says "join" or "connect" or something similar. I've never seen anything come up on that "attempting direct connect " screen.
yes i connect the normal way in the server list in the steam version. Well in the old version this was true, yes. but now i have to select the server outside the game, in a menu.
I'm at my computer now so I don't have to rely on my memory. Select multiplay from the rF launcher. Select and join server from server lobby page. Game starts and displays the "attempting direct connect" page for a second or two then it goes to the car select page. If you select a car and click "race" on the right side of screen, the track loads and off you go. If you select "back" from the car select page it takes you to the "attempting direct connect" page where you can select "settings" at the bottom etc. Whenever you are at the "attempting direct connect" page, just click "race" on the right of screen and it takes you to the car select page, click "race" on the car select page to load the track. I never have seen anything listed in the "attempting direct connect" page, it looks like there is meant to be servers listed there. Maybe it was supposed to be an in-game server lobby like in rF1.
Well the problem is that it is stuck at ''attempting direct connect'' and the race button is grey and i can't press it. it's a really weird problem :/
in fact, since the steam release, when joining a server it is always in direct connect. you just don't really see it when it is working. the server is not your local server right ?
yes, i could join it a month ago, and yes i can join other servers. but again, i am the only one that can't connect
Maybe mod or track is broken/screwed up somehow? You could try uninstalling tem and reinstall (or unsubscribe from workshop)
See if you can get the server admin to restart the server. I have had problems before that 1 person couldn't join my server. Restarting the server fixed it.
This might be a stupid question, but what do you mean with ''+connect''? i'm dutch so most things are called different here
you do a Shortcut on your desktop and in the target you had +connect ip at the end. Like that: \steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" +connect=ip: port (without space) I am using this for my LAN: server\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" +connect=192.168.x.xx:64297 replace IP: port from the External ip and the port of the server... use that shortcut to join your server
