Hello Guys, i have got a strange Problem with the car sounds in rfactor 2. I havent found any similar Sound issues or fixes for that on Google. All cars Sound like im driving in/through a tunnel or something like that. I dont know exactly how to describe it. I already checked the game for Errors on steam. Even reinstall hasnt changened anything. I hope someone can help me Thanks in advance!
If it isn't caused by an activated Windows Sound-Scheme, i would suggest to play around with the Ingame Sound-Settings first.
Hey all, I just recorded a clip and put it on Youtube. I hope im allowed to post links You can clearly hear how the sound does change after 0:42. And at 0:47 the strange sound appears again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiHL3sY3rwk
Strange this! Sounds like a driver problem.... (I mean soundcard-driver, not you as a driver LOL ) I doubt that it´s a games fault, as you say reinstall does nothing.
You are This sounds like the in-game reverb from being close to walls. Try a more open track and see if it disappears. I get this a lot if I turn the Rear Surround up too high. There is a way to alter it in a JSON somewhere.
@kaptainkremmen haha haven`t thought about thatbut that would make sense. Is there a way to completely shut these soundeffects down?
I have tried to delete all the reverb files in the plr file but obviously that didnt help because it just recreates the files when you start the game. Im pretty sure those "reverb" sounds are my "problem". Is there an other way to get rid of it?
you could try reducing this value . "Reverb Max Dist":13, "Reverb Max Dist#":"Distance from wall at which reverb drops to zero",
Sorry I know this post is 1 year old but I think I have a similar problem. Where I found the files to change these values "Reverb Max Dist":13, "Reverb Max Dist#":"Distance from wall at which reverb drops to zero" ? Thanks !
@Nismogtr It's in your player.JSON file, which is in the rFactor 2\UserData\player folder. Full path might be something like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player You can open it in notepad. Just make sure the comma stays at the end of the line, or you'll get a JSON format error. So maybe: "Reverb Max Dist":3, Or something like that.
