Unfortunately for the community we have no news from Noel apart of himself confirming no personal damages after being hit by hurricane Mathew back in October 2016. It would be nice to have some news of him after over 3 months.
Indeed, I had read the previous posts in this thread and was assuming that everything was back to normal after the storm. Hoping you're ok, Noel? Can anyone explain how to insert my Dropbox urls into my .rfmods manually, please?
Sorry yes, you're right. I meant .rfcmp files, of course! I'm only running a part-time practice server, so I suppose I can allow my clients to download from the server... shame, that GetModMgr worked so well.
This is very important information for those of us who rely on Noels service for getmod to work. If his service goes down then Getmod stops working on my servers.
You have to repack the rfcmp packages and include a proper url for download. As long as a valid url is included within the rfcmp files, it should be working, isn`t it?
I don't know how to re-pack the .rfcmp file to include my Dropbox address for the files. Maybe S397 can integrate this service into their software. I don't think S397 want a dozen different .rfcmp files for the same mod simply to allow different leagues and server admins to make GetMod work. Steam workshop content should come with the link (for steam download) already embedded in the .rfcmp. (it doesn't). ISI/S397 mods already do.
Yes, all the files which I had registered with Noel's service are working with GetMod. It's registering NEW ones which is the issue.
rFactor started to work with getmod directly from the servers packages folder (if enabled). I´ll reach out to Noel and see if he can update it.
Yes but and tell me if I'm wrong...you have to make the .rfcmp file first so you can upload it to get a link to put in the already made rfcmp file so you have to remake rfcmp again with the link included
Hm...its really a long time ago, as i hosted rfactor2 server...but if i remind me right, i uploaded a dummy (small txt file), just named into the rfcmp wich i want to make, put the url of the file into the real rfcmp and uploaded the rfcmp with replacing the "original" file.
This is sounding very complicated and messy for the average user without this tool or something like it. Thanks @Jimmi Allison for making contact with Noel
Are we sure this is working? as i am getting bad file descriptor... it was working before it went down...
No problem running the GetModMgr.exe here. The registration and login pages also work for me: http://getmod.srrs-racing.net/registration.php http://getmod.srrs-racing.net/login.php
