Why in showroom we dont have HDR. Most cars are optimized for HDR and without some looks weird. in Devmode showroom its ok but not in singleplayer
I don't know but this has always bugged me as well. The cars in the showroom look absolutely horrible.
Showroom does have HDR. Devmode showroom is bugged and shows everything as too bright. The showroom garages are indoors so they are darker than what the car will look in direct sunlight, nothing wrong with this. Same way as your car will look darker when it's in the pit garage.
The showroom hasn't got the environment sphere in it either. Car on track with environment sphere; Same car in the showroom. The silver area in the on track is black or dark grey in the showroom because there's no reflection sphere and to have it work on track as chrome affect the base color is or has to be dark as you see here. On the ICON,s for the cars in the select menu are shots from the showroom, they also lack the chrome appearance. It's another thing that rF1 did so well were rF2 has failed greatly.
Maybe you are right, but rf2 should offer an option to modders to set the light like on track (not indoor). Or just: when showroom have a roof then indoor light, when no roof then direct sunlight like on track. The most want see the car in direct sunlight and also with reflection everything else looks aweful
Maybe HDR is the wrong term then, but the cars definitely look like crap in the showroom. Different than how they look on track. Almost like the wrong shaders are loaded, no reflections, flat textures etc...
