rFactor 2 Launcher - Not Responding

Hi Folks, I just purchased and installed rF2 and it is also my first experience with Steam.

I click to start the game and the launcher gets hung up on the following (I presume) updates needed.

Verifying 1%/3PA_Matsusaka_2015v1.00
There are a bunch of others queued to be done after.

I leave it alone and it never moves off the 1% amount. I cancel and it says Launch RFactor.exe is not responding.

I am hoping someone can tell me how to fix this or point me to the proper location to obtain help.

Maybe nobody has seen this before. Am I able to delete and reinstall rF2 without having buy it again? If so, might it be wise to delete Steam too and start fresh?

Thank you Mangoletsi, I am half way through a new dl of rF2 and will try your suggestion if this does not work. Much appreciate the assistance.

 

a teammate had the same probleme, deleting the package solved his problem

X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\rFactor 2\Packages

Thanks, at least I am not alone. I will see what happens after new install, but it looks like it won't help based on that thread,

 

The new install worked for me. Thanks for all the help today.
