It's true, I've been uncharacteristically lax in cross-promotion my self-promotion in this case See here, for those who haven't seen a '67 LM-esque skinpack for the Howston G4/G6 ^^ that should probably have been a decent clue in the puzzle I just registered and had a skim/look at that. Glad to see a commitment to non-ripped and permission-graced content with that mod. Hopefully someone around here with the capacity and commitment can engage with BorekS. I read the physics are being handled by the P&G team now.
lola/howston & 917K arent quality? or are you discounting those for some other reason? +hockenheim & zandvoort, youre talking GP; are the historics broken or something?? dont mean to start a debate, just not clear what you mean by no quality cars.
It's been a while since any one has posted in this. I don't know what it is, but I'll been on a 1960s Sports car kick lately. I really hope some 60s cars get created or converted for rF2. I'm sure you have caught these videos all ready, but it should help if you haven't seen them https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=559103687597650
Thanks, I have seen a few videos already, but it's also good that other people can get to see them Work continues on the project. Currently working on... Fences!
Is flickering inevitable when doing fences? After the Nola release I'm just wondering if that is just the norm?
Sort of, as far as i can tell, yes. It depends on the shape and colour of the fence, material settings, and the time of day, and where it's being seen from. Probably other things too. And the user's graphics settings.
Yes it is. In every single 3D game. Tuttle explained very well pixel/texel - ratio challenge and countermeasures on NOLA thread. If you have 55 inch monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution, pixel size of the panel is huge (compared to smaller panels). In addition, if you sit very close to huge monitor, these shimmering/flickering issues will be pronounced even more.
here is some research published by Daily Sports Car about formerly proposed alternative layouts for Le Mans, and if the ACO are again planning to make Le Mans a permanent, non-public road circuit. I think this is all sufficiently relevant to my project, so here is the article edit: I don't mean to imply I'll be attempting to make these proposed layouts at all. Just to be clear, I will not be doing that
Also on the topic of alternate layouts, as this project has progressed some things have taken longer than I'd like. As a result, it's now less and less likely I'll make a '67 version of the Bugatti layout. It's also likely that a possible 1970 version will be more like a 1967 with the addition of the Ford Chicane (not 100% historically accurate, but maybe technically it depends on when they finished making the chicane (it was first used for the '68 race in September (not June, due to strikes))). Perhaps as this project nears it's end someone else with the skills and time might like to assist in making the Bugatti Layout, and/or a truer representation of the 1970 layout (minimally requiring armco/concrete around the whole lap, some run-off and verge alterations, an extra grandstand at Ford Chicane, yellow caution lights around the lap, and optionally a contemplative Steve McQueen in a paddock restaurant)
