Hey, i am new to rfactor, so i looked up how to install mods. Every videos says that i have to extract the files into the "package" folder. The problem is, that i don´t have that folder, but instead i have an "ModDev" folder. I looked at the mod manager, and the location in the bottom shows, that it is using mods from the "package" folder. I then press to open it, but instead i get directed to the "launcher" folder. I´ve tried to install mods both in "ModDev" and in "launcher" but none of them work. Do you guys have a solution?
Well, thats easy......hehe, I JUST figured that one out......today! No, a great guy here on the forum told me because I don't understand the steam version. The link on the bottom of the launcher says "steam/steamapps/common/somethingrF2 I believe/Packages" right? And the "Packages" is just not there, right? Make the Packages folder where the launcher says it should be, drop your rfcmp in there, refresh the launcher and install. If that doesn't work; you're gonna need a smarter guy to help you out Good luck mate.
So i should just make a new folder? Because it the link just sent me to the "launcher" folder? Should i make a new folder called "Package" in the "launcher" folder, or? Thanks
No, I don't believe its in the launcher folder mate. Don't do anything please, let me check first! Back in a few.
Hmm, when in launcher and you tap on the box (picto) to the left; you get all there is installed? On the bottom there is a white line with a link in it, saying: steam/steamapps/rfactor2/Packages. If not; you may have messed it up? On my system, this was the link by default. I just installed steam (and thus the game again) so its pretty fresh in my memory. If you have a different link in there; the old/default one should be in the pulldown? Anyway; make the Packages folder where my link says it should be and direct your link to it. If anything else; please make a screenshot?
Well, this is how it looks like, but when i press the little plus on the lower left corner then it sends me to screenshot 2
Yeah, don't press the + Go to where the link says up to the rFactor2 folder in there and create a folder named "Packages". Drop your rfcmp in there, click "refresh list" and you should see your mod in the list, right there to install. Edit; I mean; go in the folders, not by the launcher........
