    Hello
A driver of my league are having a performance problem when approaching other cars. This happens online and offline.
He has declined graphics, disable V-Sync and catch Max Framerate, and so far not resolved.

Does anyone have any other tips? Here the video of the problem.

That looks like your CPU being overloaded, unable to handle the physics. Graphics changes won't fix that. Might be just that your CPU isn't cut out, might be your wheel update rate. What system specs/steering wheel do you have?

I am suffering the same problem with this new build. CPU overload with other cars nearby.
My CPU is an dualcore 3.0 GHz E8400 and I had a smooth racing experience with prior build

Looks like ISI had messed up something with core administration !

    Hello,
    This video is mine. I have a Q8200 @ 2:33, GTX560Ti and 8GB ddr2. The steering wheel is a G27.
Using riva tuner during game play shows that the processor is 80% ~ 90% and the video card is working to <70%.
I'll do some tests with the question of the processor in mind!

The more AI cars you add, the more powerful CPU you need.

Press ctrl+c, check purple bar, if it reaches max then unless it's a software/driver on your PC limiting your CPU, your CPU is simply underpowered. To be honest, it's almost a bit silly to play an advanced 2016 sim on a CPU architecture released in 2006 (Core 2 Duo) and expect it to work well, 10 years is an eternity in PC lifetime.

I used Ctrl-C monitor to see CPU overloaded from time to time. I am using 8 AI cars visible and settings, that allowed my 2core system running wery smooth in Build 1052. The behaviour shown in the video is induced by an error and not by outdated HW.

I disabled all plugins and the occurency is minimized but still exists

    Yeah, same here.

last build everything was fine, now this build my CPU usage reach the limit with IA or with a lot of car around.

Update your hardware information in your profile and it is more easy to help and find out what is wrong.

Are you using 32 or 64 bit ver. of rF2?

I am using 64 bit ver, but I tested 32 bit ver also with the same result

Have you tried disabling the new FFB thread? It seems plausible dual cores especially might be prone to suffering with that.

I had the same experience with 1080. CPU overloaded more than it ever used to in the past. I had to limit the framerate to get CPU under 100% but still get frame rate stutters but not the "falling out of time" issue in the video. I would like to know the FFB core as well as I feel that may be my issue.

    EDIT:
    From the change log:

Added a separate thread to issue FFB commands which is needed for some drivers that block. This functionality improves upon and therefore replaces the old Controller.JSON value “Skip updates”, but can also be disabled by setting the new Controller.JSON value “Use thread” to false.

Yeah, I had to use that .json edit. I know what settings I can run on my old, limited dual core and still have a great RF2 experience but with this build my CPU usage was completely different. Clearly, something massive had changed and it was now unplayable. I suspected it must've been this setting, although I never had to touch the old 'Skip updates' option. Anyway, I set 'Use thread' to false and went and ran 14 Apex GT3 round Nords for 3 hours day to night and all was well with the world.

Yes, we'd recommend trying to set this to "false" and see if it helps.

The exact value from your Controller.JSON should look like this:

    "Use thread":false,
"Use thread#":"Use a separate thread to issue FFB

No not at all, FFB should be the exact same as before.

Glad it's sorted for you :)
