What are the benefits of using the steam server over the normal one? Is there for example somewhere on Steam that shows server listings?

Basically how can we leverage the steam server best?

That's about the only advantage, if you even want to call it that. I find the thing something that might have been used in the late 1980s.

The in-game one is much better and you don't need Steam to run it.

I believe through Steam you can join your friends in an existing session by just clicking on an invitation. Also leagues can post their own specific vMods and content that will be automatically downloaded by those participants.

The main benefit of the steam one is you can sort and filter much easier than the in-game one.

How I get my server to appear in that Steam list?

Are you hosting through Steam? I think at the moment only those hosted through it, appear.

Followed those instructions... I run the right server with the correct content. It appears in the ISI MM list... and I can join it, but I can't see it in the steam server list. I have opened the 5 ports... maybe I am missing something?!

When you open Steam, click on View and then Servers. On the bottom left, filter for rF2. If you are still using the rF2 launcher to host, I think that may be the "issue".

I am not... I am using the one SteamCMD generated from the command line instructions, and I am looking at the Steam server list... any other bright ideas?
