This video isn't great quality but demonstrates. Look on the building on the left. It's like it's redrawing in higher detail as I get nearer it. At Brianza it's even worse. On the pitwall there's no shadow, the son is on it until I get very close then a shadow appears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TBQjgJlXVM I was told about changing a shader but how do I do that? Was led to believe the option was in game but I see nothing for shaders. I'm running a GTX960. It's EXTREMELY distracting and I really want to fix it but I've no idea how.
You might try setting Texture Sharpening in your JSON file to 2+=1.0( blurry) or even 0 and see what happens.
Did you try it with setting higher "Display"-setting-values ingame, e.g. for "Circuit Details" or "Texture Details"?
All settings are at full detail. This only occurred after the recent update to the tracks. Prior versions were fine. I've seen stuff about people choosing particular shaders to use but can find no instruction on it. Whatever is causing this is really distracting and I've tried everything.
Does it look "better" if you set the Shadows to "off"? Or if you change this setting in the player.JSON: from: "MIP Mapping":1, to: "MIP Mapping":0, ?
It's technically not a bug and it's not related to the building itself, it's just drawing the shadows. This is limited by game engine and shadow setting. Use Max for best shadow draw distance. But it's basically a game engine limitation.
Thanks. The MIP thing seems to have masked it a bit. Thank you stonec. Explains why I can't sort it. Oh, and I went the other way. Turned shadows OFF entirely. Cars still have them underneath which is all I care about. As a side benefit I've gotten a MASSIVE framerate increase, and frankly the lack of on track shadows doesn't bother me.
