Great work shiet mon Mosport is an all time FAV; your track is raceable, fun, & is very representative of this iconic track now, sit down, relax, have a beer then, get back to it name of the next track is Riverside just remember, you're having fun !! R I V E R S I D E nothing there but a strip mall today don't it make you sad ? & there are no trees !! Riverside Riverside Onboard for Riverside (just a little poke, not too much, I hope)
Thanks a lot for all the effort Shiet. You may not have enjoyed all of it, but you've created something awesome!
I think for the second time this should be easier and more enjoyable. Btw based on the Google Earth image there are only 37 pitstalls on this track, I might have to reduce it from 44 because pitting in while there are other cars around is a bit messy right now, pretty much not possible without a collision.
+1 I say modders unite and make this the next 3PA Circuit. " 3PA Modders and Painters Co-Op " p P.S. I never understood why circuits need to be laser or historically correct otherwise how could you enjoy Fantasy Tracks. Take Jops Siffert in GPL, one of the best layouts I have ever driven. The rF2 version just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That is a track a Co-Op could completely redo and turn into the GPL masterpiece it was. No permission or copyright issues for ISI or 3PA and with the blessing of GPL community to boot !
I'm really looking forward to taking the Megane for a spin here over the weekend...thanks again for all your hard work, Shiet and Tosch. It'd be great if somebody could pick up this project should you really decide to retire for good from modding... which would be a shame because you really gave great talent If you don't like 3dsmax take a look at Blender, maybe it fits your bill better (it's free and open source). ISI and friends (Traveller) have really upped their game on blender support recently. Uwe
I just added the track (both layouts) to rF2 Rank... very nice work indeed. I tested the Camaro and it drives brilliantly there, very good flow to the circuit. I also changed the track promo on rF2 Rank to Mosport Pre 2013. Cheers, Uwe
Here is a minor update with bugfixes, if you are happy with 0.8 then you don't need to download this. Mosport 0.807: - the end of pit exit tarmac is somewhat smoother - fixed terrain in T2 behind the wall - fixed few walls - brightness adjustments on some textures http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/mosport-ctmp-wip.7558/ https://www.dropbox.com/s/5qb09mvu9jpxpkj/CTMP_v0.807.rfcmp?dl=0 http://www.mediafire.com/download/as145v9g2klkomr/CTMP_v0.807.rfcmp Also here is a video. I made this for myself earlier just to see how my track compares to real life. The two cars are not perfectly synchronized (mainly because the AI is different than a human, AI was slower coming out of T5, but human was slower in the esses) but you get the idea. DurgeDriven: I hope you don't mind if I decide what's going to happen with the track. I don't think this is going to become a 3PA track for quiet a few reasons.
@Shiet, no pressure but do please let me know if you decide to fix mesh issue above or when you decide to pass it along to the community.
Amazing work on this track shiet ! The track looks very realistic ! Thank you for your hard work and sharing with us the best recreation of Mosport after iRacing laser scanned one, which proves again, that track doesn`t has to be laser scanned to be accurate and realistic. I hope you consider doing Detroit Belle Isle, of course if you decide to make more tracks for rFactor 2. You definitely have talent and a good eye to details and your work is already legendary. Thanks so much for the Mosport !
+1 As long as it has character and flow like this does. The other thing is of course ...what are all the laser scanned tracks in the world without rF2 physics, chassis, tyres, terrain and real road ? I dunno ? lol
It is measurably worse in the new version with the Eve F3. v0.80 you could race them with pile ups every few races but was fun online to chase them. v0.87 they just going crazy every F3 every lap.
Yea yesterday I thought I solved the problem with 0.807 but no. The tires on the EVE sink below the road for some reason (maybe the car is bugged, this is the only one) and they make contact with the other road below the main road coming from the pits. I know the cause of the problem but I don't know if I can completely eliminate it.
I was able to fix this almost entirely, there are still 2 spots where the EVE bounces coming out of the pit but at least it won't crash, during race there shouldn't be any kind of problem like in your video, I ran a fast race with the EVE. I fixed the pit entry too. This is the best I can do with BTB. However I can't make a tiny single patch because the MAS utility doesn't do anything when I press Package. View attachment 18490 edit: I figured it out, the .rfcmp had to be in the same directory with the .mas. Just install it over the 0.807. https://www.dropbox.com/s/byqr2e0ags8qaw0/CTMP_v0.807a.rfcmp?dl=0 http://www.mediafire.com/download/as85obkfab4q0v8/CTMP_v0.807a.rfcmp
Hmm maybe I'm just blind, but I don't see the patch in the local content list after I've downloaded it into my packages folder. EDIT: Sorry, I was just blind... It is confusing however, that the main track package appears way down the list (because of the lower case "m" maybe?) and the patch appears in the appropriate place (upper case "M"?). EDIT #2: Ah dammit scratch all that... I thought I had the latest version of the track. NM.
Probably. From 0.807 I renamed the package to "Mosport (CTMP)". Previously it was just "mosport" I think. "EDIT #2: Ah dammit scratch all that... I thought I had the latest version of the track." WIP...
