Ive only tried the Camero out of the Apex Mod round here so far and it was a blast, loved it. Also tried the formula Renault, and that was one hell of a ride, mental. Cant stop lapping this track, im hooked.
Track looks beautiful................Not sure if it's the track or some cars are to big or it's my settings. But with some cars the track seems too narrow. As an example I tried ISI Camero and 3 cars can only just fit side by side up mountain straight (not comfortably). But with the escort 3 wide was easy like this video. you see in this video 3 wide should be easy. maybe car modders need to use Bathurst as a test ground for more than one reason
That Bathurst thread ( Google "VR Bathurst" ) turns into even another " rF2 too dear" thread. lol Read MatF1's post, gives them what for. hehehe On ya Mat !
Just my bystanders perspective, but I reckon a modern GT car would have a much wider track than older cars. I'm seeing something like 1700mm track width for a GT3 Camaro, vs 14-1500 for an older Mustang, roughly the same for a GTHO. So say 20cm wider per car? Excluding bodywork and flared arches lol
I did a few laps last night. Its massively challenging with plenty of bumps. Very bumpy into T2 Quarry. Thanks for this great track. Now some feedback. (hope that is ok) I might be wrong but I will say the things that didnt feel right (just my opinion so dont flame me me ok). T3 The cutting: the inside edge of the track seems from video to be steeper. As you go from outside to inside it feels like a skate park move IRL. On this version its more constant gradient. T14 The Dipper, IRL its like jumping off the roof of a house on the inside of this corner. In this version its far too flat. T10 Mc Phillamy park IRL seems one long turn. In this version its two distinct apexes. (oh yes the thing Lazza mentioned about the kink before T2 Quarry or Griffiths). Its still a great track and thank you. I'm sure Ill have tons of fun.
Amazing track, I been waiting for this race track since I left rf1 aside. Lot of details and great ambient. 1.51.7 my best at the moment.

Yeah, I don't mean to dwell on the inaccuracies either. I did thousands of laps at the ORSM track despite knowing it wasn't quite right, it was still a decent representation of Bathurst and this is a bit better again, so all good. As for the dipper though... I know it's quite steep, but cars not only go down it, they go up it. I have a photo (not my own) of a fairly old mini taking part in a hillclimb which is done in reverse direction to normal racing, and it's right at the inside apex of the dipper when the photo is taken. If, as in some renditions of the track, the inside of the dipper were 45° I think cars would come to a stop
I made some comparisons with the Project CARS version, aside from the trees and advertisements they look identical to me: http://picsurge.com/g/dBb7iN http://imgur.com/a/X27xP
The Dipper is one of those things like Eau Rouge as I said earlier, you see it a thousand times on TV but until you are *actually* stood atop the thing you'll never really appreciate just how steep/big it really is, no amount of videos or pictures prepares you for it...trust me! I highly recommend a visit, to walk the track alone is like walking round a sacred place, simply incredible
I agree with you about this, I have been at Spa a common day of the week, and It was fascinating to see how tall and big is Eau Rouge. Before that, I have had an idea about how it should be from pictures, and million of laps on GPL, GTP and rf1, but being there, have changed my mind.
I got some error messages when I tried to load Bathurst. Halfways loading the track two messages pop up, "gMotor 2 Error' "Error loading src temp surface GRAS_SLOPE02_NORM.DDSError loading texture GRAS_SLOPE02_NORM for material DSTG_SLOPEX2OV" and the other says "Error loading global material DSTG_SLOPEX2OV" Anyone know what to do?
