Gpu-z last version say pci-e 2.0 x16 @ x8 1.1. if i made the integrated power saving render testing it go to pci-e 2.0 x16 @ x8 2.0.
hmm. What motherboard and cpu do you have? Also, is this the report (PCIe Interface 3.0@1.1 x8) after clicking the ? symbol and "Start Render Test" to put the gpu in load which will raise the pci-e mode to the hightest possible level?
Ok, so i took the 2nd card out to let it run at PCI-e 3.0 x16 mode and fps jumped up to the 110 fps i predicted for 1080p. And it was 91 fps for 1440p.
Anyone remember how to change pci express from bios?? I don't find anymore the option to put pci to 16x
Are you sure you've written that correctly? If so, then that means your running at effectively PCI-e 3.0 x4 mode. If correct, that could very well explain the performance issues you are seeing in rf2. Looks like Emery may have been right on the money on this one. Sorry if true Emery.
control panel> power options > max performance or you can change Balanced mode (which is default) by pressing change plan settings, change advanced power settings. pci express > link state power management set to off. is the GPU plugged in the right slot?
Yes it's correct, i can't find anymore the option to force x16, i have a i5 2500 and a Asrock H61M/U3S3 Socket 1155 Intel H61 DDR3 SATA3 USB3 HDMI MicroATX
Ok, so first thing first....an i5 2500k limits you to no more than pci-e 2.0 x16 mode. That agrees with your gpuz report that states "pci-e 2.0 x16 @ x8 2.0". However you're being limited to "@ x8 2.0" for some reason. Your motherboard is capable of up to 3.0 x16 mode in the blue slot so it can't be that your motherboard is the issue. He only has the one that'll fit.
Ok, i put link state power management to off, but the pci remain on 8x, for the slot yes, i have only one slot, and up to few weeks ago i used the 16x, i can't understand what happen to my pc
Recently i activated sata 3.0 for the ssd, can be this the reason?? In some manner that limit the line for the gpu?
I don't think it's likely but wouldn't hurt to try turning it back i guess. I'm currently thinking there is the possibility of it being a bug with your mobo. edit: are you running anything in the other pci-e x1 slot on your motherboard? e.g. sound card? If so, that might be causing the issue. Sticking something in it might limit all the pci slots to 2.0 mode and then with items plugged into both pci-e slots, might cause a max of x8 for the gpu slot also giving you a max total of 2.0 x8. It's just a theory.
i have a sound card, but it's not the problem, few weeks ago with the sound card and the gpu i used the x16, the only thing i changed it's the ssd port
hmm, i'm out of ideas then. Can you think of anything else you have done that may have caused your card to be limited to 2.0 x8 mode.
