Looks like i might try installing 12 and see if it works then :)

Else i just use 16, and save back and export from 2011..

    Cancel that...

It happens on 32 bit version instantly, have not yet had it using x64 - in which ISI plugins don't work :/

Medicine for the "menu-context-issue": Windows Key + D twice.

Not the ideal but the viewport is recovered.

    Regards.

The timeline is weeks. And it is a much better solution. ISI will no longer have to update plugins for each release of Max and you will be able to use any modeler that will save to FBX. If they make improvements to the GMT format they only have one code base to update rather than several plugins for various versions of Max. And you get real time editing of the mats with the full rF2 rendering engine. No more exporting from Max and then launching DevMode to see how it looks. You simply open the FBX file, tweak the mats and then when it looks right you do the GMT export and you will know that it will look the same in the game as it did in gJED.

In other words, the process will become exactly the same as AC.

Nice find! Thanks for sharing! SO much better/faster than restarting Max--especially with larger scenes.

Welcome! Indeed, this way you can keep working at the same Max session.

If you have, install the update packages to 3dsmax.

So I had some humble pie, now I would like to congratulate ISI on this move, this will make things much better for the rF2 ecosystem.

Knowing about it a bit earlier would have been nice though, would have averted many questions about plugins etc in posts around here.

and I can get a refund on the time machine I bought to go back and buy max 2012:p

Kudos to you isi though, it takes gumption to change things in a different direction like that.
