    Thanks Tuttle.

Seems like Tuttle explained why. I guess they're double checking nothing else was effected from the fix. Anyway, my last words on the subject. :)

This version of Sebring doesnt seem to be logging any practice session in liveracers dat have AI in it. Maybe 2.01 can fix dat. Will update.

The removed link it is not the AIW file by Noel, but a brand new component someone released without permission and using the same VLM dev. progressive numeration. This is a NO NO with rF2 mod management.

Before laughing be sure you understand the point, if you can.

    Question:

Is it possible for modders to encrypt their .mas files by ISI?
I know some cars are protected this way, but i don't know if it's possible with tracks.

It isn't an exuse for what happend. But it might be a sollution for the future?

Yes it is possible but you need to ask ISI to do that for you. Encryption is something you can't do on your side.

BTW I wouldn't suggest to encrypt the main .MAS track archive as I believe leagues are doing sometimes small changes to fit their needs. Car encryption is just to protect manufacturer data we can't release straight to the public.

    Thanks for the reply.
Hopefully modders make use of this encryption service more often.

In this case: Virtua_LM doesn't want any changes.

Slightly off-topic, but I hope modders actually do not encrypt content more often. Why? Because existing content can be a great example for others wishing to start modding. In general I hope people can just respect the conditions that modders put on their work when releasing it. At the same time, I hope modders release their work as open source, allowing others to use and experiment with it. But not everybody wants that, and we need to respect that.

    Again, thanks Noel.

However, I did notice that in the original v2.0 aiw file the garagespots was set to 3... now set to 2... is this correct ???

Please excuse my ignorance on this topic as I am just delving into this kind of stuff but the name of the file has AI in it... do the parameters effect real drivers as well as AI ???

The original AIW had it set for 3 garage spots per pit but all of the 3rd garages were sitting on the start finish line. There isn't enough physical space to have 3 per pit so I simply changed it to have 2 per pit. The garage spots are used by AI and real drivers so yes, it would effect both. The only way to have more garages would be to open up the area behind the building and let them park in the grass like this track was in rF1. But that requires more work. I was just looking for a quick and simple fix for leagues to start using the track until VLM had a chance to do a proper fix. Looking back I wish I didn't even get involved.

Sorry for dumb question, especially if I've already asked, as I have fallen behind in this thread. Do any of these AIW fixes solve the AI slowing at start/finish in club layout?

I only messed with the AIW from the 12h layout. So no. I haven't looked but my guess is the club layout also has it set to 3 garages per pit and has all the 3rd garages sitting on the start finish. I think it's best to just wait for VLM to release an official fix.

    Thank you very much Noel!!!

I for one am very glad that you did get involved!

You have provide me very two VERY useful bits...

    1) the fix for the track bug @ Sebring.
    2) the software you created to reverse-engineer a rfcmp file from a mas file will be invaluable to me in the future.

I am sorry you wished you hadn't gotten involved now but.... you really saved my "bacon" by doing so.

THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH !!!

NO NO? Oh my, was my computer going to blow up?

Thank you for call me stupid. This is the clever way that ISI staff treat their customers.

Not sure how many times you have to be told that the modder didn't allow repackaging/redistribution of his content in modified form. Nothing to do with ISI. If you haven't understood that by now, then they have every right calling you stupid (which they didn't do by the way) :).
