Welcome to RaceFactor Season 12 Renault Clio Cup 197 - Fixed setups, 2 x Tyre Wear, 3 x Fuel usage, rF2 Build 930 Round 1 from Oran Park - Monday 9th March 2015. External Link Race Timings (AEDT) approx. only - 8:30pm - Race 1 Practice - 20 mins 8:55pm - Race 1 Qualifying - 5mins (1 Flying Lap only) 9:05pm - Race 1 Warm-up - 5mins 9:15pm - Race 1 - 10mins 9:30pm - Race 2 Warm-up - 5mins 9:40pm - Race 2 - 10mins (Reverse Grid from finish order in Race 1) 9:55pm - Race 3 Warm-up - 5 mins 10:05pm - Race 3 - 30min (Grid order determined on combined results for Race 1 and 2) A Lap of Oran Park:- As you exit the final turn onto the main straight, you go all the way up through the gears reaching around 190km/hour top speed before you are faced with a left hand kink heading towards Coca-Cola Corner. The brave will take the kink flat-out while the safer method is to lift for a fraction of a second and drop down a gear just before you turn into the kink. In both cases, as soon as the car is stable on the other side of the kink, you are hard on the brakes and back down the gears for the 2nd gear corner. Careful of the sandtrap and wall on the outside of the corner, they can hurt! Accelerating hard on exit and using all the road, you head down the short shute under the Dunlop Bridge before lining up for Sheel Corner. Look for the white signs on the right hand tyre all before braking hard and shifting down to 2nd before turning into Shell Corner using a rather late apex. Another short shute up to Champion, you can leave it in 3rd on the limiter or change up to forth and use the subsequent downshift to help wash off speed for the turn into the corner. Either method can again be used for the next series of corners as you go over the bridge, through the Foster's dip and into Momo. After Momo, it is again hard on the throttle and flat out through the dogleg before another heavy breaking point in Recaro the final corner on the circuit. You need to start breaking early into Recaro, before you hit the bottom of the dip, to get the correct apex. Careful not to accellerate to quickly or you will quite easily hit the outside before the pit entrance. Back up the gears and across the finish line and hopefully you have achieved a lap in the vacinity of a 1min16sec. A tight, twisty, undulating track that provides many overtaking opportunities and close racing that is no longer an active track after being turned into a housing devlopment. Please note that next Monday 6th April is a public holiday and therefore there will be no championship round in the MXJ F1 Simulator Season 12 Racefactor League. There will however be a fun night of show up and races. Round 5 will resume the following week - 13th April with the Symmons Plains round.
