I think with the current car selection everyone has his share of formulas, gt's, touring cars and vintage cars. all except modern prototypes. Is there any plan from ISI to include modern Prototypes in the near future. I imagine there is little possibility to have actual data from the recent prototypes but the old ones from 2006 or lmp2 can be licensed. I think with the urd mod it will be perfect for endurance racing. Right now I'm using the lola b60, it has really great physics and force feedback, but the car poly is really low, like in rfactor 1 numbers, when you mix it with the urd models who have a high poly it even more apparent and becomes distracting.
Huge +1. I keep going on about this and will not tire of doing so until we get at least one modern LMP. I promise!
That Lola does stick out quite a bit from rF2 content. SimHQ had released their Acura and Porsche LMPs, very fine models and maybe except for the Porsche's front windshield "missing" it is an awesome first entry. I don't know if they are still available on the website for download or not, but someone else can help here. I am so looking forward to the Bentley Speed 8 and any tracks that will suit it too!
I'll say a little pray: "Now I lay me down to sleep, Praise the Lord my soul to keep. If I die before I wake, NO NO, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL ISI RELEASES IT!"
I haven't forgotten and anticipate it eagerly! However, I hope Tim's reply indicates something rather more "modern" in the pipeline. LMP900 hasn't been around for over 10 years.
ISI clearly has a link with Nissan (370Z GT4, GT-R GT1, and the upcoming GT-R GT500), and Nissan has said that their new LMP1 would be on multiple sims (obviously in Gran Turismo, because of GT Academy, but this doesn't rule out others like... rf2 ). Now this off course doesn't mean anything, but I wouldn't be too surprised by it coming to rF2 (eventually ) EDIT :: and clearly someone else allready mentioned such a thing on this forum even Including the proper quote See here
I agree generally with this topic. However, I'd rather they spent their development resources on making rF2 smoother, more realistic weather/transitions, more sensible path to add new mods/cars, efficient netcode, etc. They are making progress ... I just wouldn't want to lose momentum optimizing the overall program.
id think theres a substantial difference b/w the kind of emulation 'racing games' do (sorry this sounds so elitist) & the nec. details sims usually require. seems unlikely to me that a top of the line prototype car from this year will be appearing officially in any sim any time remotely soon.
Associat0r, the MAK-CORP modding team had three Group C in previews.... and then it kind of fell off the world.
Seeing as you have a license to do their cars, maybe this http://wot.motortrend.com/1502_nissan_details_its_front_engine_gt_r_lm_nismo_prototype_racer.html
I agree there is no way Nissan will allow data from his new prototype. For my part I rather have a car with real data even if it's older than a new lmp1 with no real data at all.
