I've noticed a problem which seems confined to the C6 and NSX cars. While testing Longford at night, it seems the headlights ignore certain meshes. It might be related to the size of the meshes, but other cars (ISI's and modder's) work as they should. I've typed it out in a thread related to the Longford testing, but i'll copy/paste here too. -------------------------------------------------------------- thread: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/22991-Longford-Private-Preview-Test-reviews?p=328162&viewfull=1#post328162 I've done some offline testing to investigate an issue with the way the environment is lit by headlights. This is after noticing a big variation in how the 'vette C6 was lighting the road and terrain online last night. It looks like it's only the third-party affiliate NSX and C6 cars. Have tried ISI Camaro and ISI C6R - they work ok. Howston cars are ok. Lola T280 (1.4) is ok. EGT pack is ok. ISI Nissans are ok. ISI BTCC is ok. The parts where the lighting varies are separate meshes, so that explains why it's happening where it's happening, but I guess the why is related to headlight settings on the cars. All the relevant meshes are set to receive headlights. Longford does have some large meshes, in terms of the area they cover, so that might be related too. Different track, same problem. Except from this bug I really like the NSX and C6 headlights. The light is more focused and doesn't spread so much into the trees. I have used a custom hdr profile for these shots. Here are the settings.
Yep, I'm aware of this issue. I think it is partly an rFactor bug and partly a headlight setup issue. I'm not quite sure, which parameter causes it though. I wish we could adjust the headlight params in real time in ModDev...
