This is a 1st for me as I never had an issue with ALT-TAB before, as I would regularly flip between game and MoTec data. I may try a fresh install of the game.

Found a bug!

I prefer to use my hardware AA over in game (mainly because I have an AMD video card), but with the new 906 build, that is broken. The game no longer recognizes hardware AA/AF.

 

(Just a little thing, that pressing alt+tab, besides going to the desktop, triggers the same action you have assigned to the tab only key, by default show or hide the drivers tag names; I guess that this has nothing to do with the CTD's, but in any case, it's probably a bug and really easily fixed.)

 

Try assigning the labels to a different key and see it happen again anyway.

May depend on hardware and driver on results.

All I can say is rF2 is the best FSW I have ever used by a country mile, almost every other sim is clunky and/or won't even work properly.

Plus a lot have ugly borders were rF2 has none.

 

had some more time with this new build (again open wheelers on lime rock)

new launcher that includes the downloader/install list is totally fantastic
-if the new (I read there's an official update coming) in-sim UI functions & looks this good then ISI are on to a big winner!
-new shaders look incredible although certain times of night (& perhaps day) need a big more calerbration

I get frustrated of no VR support & what seems like slow progress but these no doubt that rfactor2 is pretty much a true sim with the greatest amount of depth available

also looked at the test track (tiger) very very nice
I'll be updating each build & looking at new content on my monitor just to take an interest in progress, will start using rf2 a lot after VR compatibility comes

p.s rain spray looks good with soft particles on high -just a few visor/cam droplets would finish the visual effect of nicely

 

I had the same lock up. Crashed into the plane at speed. Heard crashing noises, screen updated as if I'd gone past the plane, and then locked up.

downloaded car on new ui, at the end it came up with rfactor 2 stopped working, rebooted and started game, now doesn`t load any tracks?? is stops at about 7/8 of the loading bar

 

How long did you wait? On first track loads it can take longer.

 

FYI, not a general bug as most of us are not experiencing that. Make sure your CCC video profile is pointing to the correct .exe (32 bit or 64 bit).

 

I did, it is pointing to 64 bit. And runs in 64 bit. I have Win7 64bit.

But meh, I get my new PC Thursday, I'll reinstall everything then, I won't worry about it for now.

 

If any one is interested I managed to solve my issue with ALT-TAB on Build 906. Basically every time I was coming out to the desktop to check MoTec I could not get back in to the game and would need to end the rf2 application via Task Manager. SO after a fresh install I was still having the issue but I noticed that before the new Launcher I always had 2 icons for rf2 in my taskbar, one for the launcher and one for the game, however when I ALT-TAB'ed out now, it only showed the game icon. I checked the Launcher and the box for 'Auto Close Launcher' in the settings was not ticked. I have never ticked it in the past. I thought I would try and tick it just to see and voilà, I can now ALT-TAB in and out of the game.

Guys, not sure about this fix, it seemed to work last time, but just been in game and this time rf2 stops working and closes down by itself, not like previously where it would freeze and I would need to bring up TM to close the application, I get the windows dialogue box telling me rf2 has stopped working & searching for a solution, blah, blah, blah.

So back to square one
