I'm new to Pc gaming and modding, and I just cannot figure out how to get my downloaded content into mod manager in the launcher. It's just not there. It shows 3 cars and 3 tracks, which I have in game, and some other things like sounds, ect. But all the tracks and cars I've downloaded, what folder do I put them into? Its a file type that I'm not familiar with.

I figured everything out with Assetto with no problems at all, but RF2 is driving me nuts at the moment.

The content files go into your packages folder of your rF2 install (rF2 install folder is in your Documents folder when using Win 8.1).

My advice don't use C drive to store anything in any OS for anything.

    lol ;)

    I use W7 and W8.1

You can archive packages to any number of folders anywhere you like.

In mod manager you will notice you can browse for multiple folders ( that is why it is there )

Make your packages like any sim archive you have, keep them safe and away from bloating your OS.

You can highlight all packages then right click install , go and make coffee.

I'm on Win 7. Step by step, is it: documents/rFactor2/packages/drag and drop there?

I've done that with tons of things and no luck.

    My advice.

    1. Make a folder to download all ISI content call it whatever you like.

You can see the partition and archive naming I used in Pic 1.

    2. In Pic 1 above click the "B" for BROWSE near the red arrows to find the folder you saved all downloads to.

    Mod manager will refresh

    3. Tick the box "Components" in top left corner of Mod manager to see all packages.

If you want to leave it all on C:\ drive is up to you............... I wouldn't.

In that case "B" BROWSE to documents/rFactor2/packages

If you want to "drag them" why not install them from wherever they are now. ?

Just keep in mind that if you are hosting and like to have working get missing component you must have all components belonging to vmod (Tracks, car etc) in our packages folder if not vmod don`t work proper.

Like Ari says for Get Mod. ( +1 mate never occurred to me )

I like it for archives backups to cut down the content in folders.

Sort of like having each my other sim archives in a single folder.

I pretty anal about folders lopl ......( SEE PIC)......... So you can understand why it carries on to rF2 for me.

Either way I would not like my only copy of packages to be resident on C:\Drive is probably the pertinent point. ;)

For a online room with manual download /or offline the only thing you need in the proper packages is the rfmods and the Skins folder ( temp storage for downloaded /used skins )

The rest can go with your normal sims backups.

Remember to select what you want in the drop down list first.

Anytime you reset rFactor2 you just need to browse and refresh the packages folders again.

In years to come I an sure I will have cars by type and tracks by country no different to GTR2 and the rest. ;)
