Is anyone else still having this problem? I can only play the game in single player mode as i get an unexpected networking error if i try to login. Also i can't connect to the rfactor.net website. I have tried to fix it in a number of ways but i still cannot connect. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Haven't tried that pap but I don't understand why it is only having an affect on a few people? In my team i think i am the only one who cannot connect to the rfactor site or login in the launcher. Edit: just checked to see if anything had changed but nope.
The only reason i could imagine to myself: 1&1 was under DDOS Attack. Maybe 1&1 blocked a couple of IP Ranges now, to avoid further attackes. Due to misfortune your IP is within this Range. But this is really not verified and doesn`t explain, why you can`t connect to rfactor.net... By any chance, your rf2 online subscription is not expired?
Subscription was for life so i dont think it could be that. I cannot even get onto 1and1's own website, i get the same error for when i try to get onto rfactor.net. There seems to be a lot of people who still cannot connect to 1and1 hosted websites, for some people this is their own businesses that they cannot connect to.
Could you try to connect to the 1&1 Website through a proxy? 1) proxy from your country 2) proxy from another country Just to come nearer to your problem... //Edit: you could also try to ping the IP Adress from rfactor.net: 74.208.115.4
Proxy from my country (Australia) allowed me to access rfactor.net and 1and1.com Proxy from UK worked as well. Pinging the ip address went normally. 4 packets sent, 4 recieved time=236ms ... etc. So it looks like its something to do with my ip address maybe?
Either your ISP or your DNS is not updating. Most likely yours, so open a command prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns If that doesn't work, scan for malware and/or set your DNS to googles. 8.8.8.8 Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Done ipconfig /flushdns (was the second thing i did) scanned for malware (first haha) issue was still present This effects all devices connected to the network which is why i just tried setting dns to googles... and it worked for all devices. How can i be having an issue with only 1and1 hosted websites?
ISPs DNS is too slow to update would be my guess. Set googles to secondary in your router at least in the short term. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
https://downdetector.com/status/1and1/news/38749-problems-at-1and1-2 Will affect different people at different times, depending on location. The server itself is up, I think something in the Atlantic isn't allowing you to connect intermittently.
I suspect this is not a client side issue. We have two members in our league who have just been afflicted with this issue. When we try and login to rF2, we get the message: Server Error: UNEXPECTED NETWORKING ERROR
Yes gb, I was at papaosa's place on Thursday trying to fix his problem with no luck. As has been mentioned earlier it my be an IPS problem. I only live a few km's away from papaosa and my rF2 is fine, I don't have rF1 installed any more. I have done no tweaking at all to my network settings since this problem arose. My ISP is iinet and I'm fairly sure papaosa is with TPG. Who are you with gb?
So its TPG and 1&1 DNS servers not communicating with each other properly. Cause if TPG was having complete DNS problems all webpages would be affected not just 1&1 websites. In the meantime going to use Google DNS until things are fixed.
