I'm sweating... shaking. I've just had the offline race of my life... Celica, 50 minutes, 27 AI, time of day around sunset. Cloudy, beautiful golden light all over the track. The port, a living, breathing, authentic place. Outside the track, workers go about their day. Inside the track limits though... a gladiator arena, with walls everywhere, ready to end you. No room for error, anywhere. Old school like you wouldn't believe. Massively fast corners, like T1, where you really push the car to its limits. The ultra quick right/left/right combo, where you only miss the walls by millimeters. Tires screaming for grip. And the pure joy of those last two left handers that lead up to the final corner. AI knows how to attack this track, and an opponent won't hesitate going alongside you for several corners. Magnificent trackside objects, buildings, enormous cranes, hundreds of containers. Patina, old billboards worn by wind and weather. Spectators along the fences. Beautiful looking tarmac. I'm blown away. This is some of the best track work I've ever seen for a sim. The Celica might be the greatest 3rd party car at this point in time. Don't ever stop making mods man! You've set a new benchmark for others to follow. Enjoy the praise you're getting, you thoroughly deserve it. Now lean back and wait for ISI to call you to a job interview. Any day now... Oh I almost forgot:
This car is as good as any other and the track is simply stunning. In all sincerity it looks like a different game although in fairness I have not thoroughly tested the new build so possibly everything looks better in this build. One thing that is REALLY and immediately obvious is how aliasing seems to be completely absent. Again to be fair I will need to give the current build a more in depth test but either way this is amazing news because either this track stands out and is the new benchmark for what is possible or, even better, everything looks great now. Good times, guys, and many many thinks to the gifted chap who created this fine piece of art. Now I have to fit in at least one lap of 24H Nords
I'd like to second that sentiment and the request for a template. Also, could you be persuaded to provide a copy of the track's .gdb and .aiw files for TrackMap plugin users. I understand wanting to encrypt such exceptional work, but it does make it impossible to extract the two files necessary to allow the plugin to display the TrackMap on screen.
Not entirely impossible. Run your car by ai driving.. i think the default key is k. Then just press alt-space and scroll with arrow keys to record new map and press enter, it should say something like waiting for start line. Let your car do a timed lap and then when the lap has completed hit save map.
Try being stuck without a wheel for another week! I have a folder on my desktop full of mods to try when my t500 gets here....this mod just made it very quickly to the top of the list I feel like I'm dying! must.......play.....
I`m also unable to try the mod for a few days yet but am so looking forward to doing so. Many thanks 32-Pixels....
I can not see where I`m going because of some anti-vapor(?) heating stripes on a windscreen. 32_Pixels, this is definitely one of the beset cars for rF2, but could you please provide version with clean windscreen? Thank you for your work.
Haven't tried the track yet but the car was great fun 'round Mid-Ohio. Didn't observe any bugs yet. Many thanks.
Both the track and car you've shared are an absolute treat. Took me a while to get used to driving the Celica, but once I got that sorted a bit, what a beauty. Thanks for sharing your work!
Holy Hanjin...mother of Maersk...tremendous fun!!! What a blast to drive both car and track! Thank you so much for this. I hope this is just the first of many projects. Congrats to you!
I really appreciate the time and efforts guys, brilliant stuff. I love the car and track, thanks again.
