    I have all graphics set to max without problems, but still some mid to long-range trackside objects (trees, buildings) pop up suddenly while driving, which is quite annoying. Sometimes even the shadows and guardrail textures appear as I drive by and seem to be forming themselves right ahead of the car. Is there some tweak or INI setting that could get rid of these problems?

    I'm not sure if that can cause it but do you have the "Auto Deatil FPS" in the Display-tab activated?

    If yes, set it to "off" and try if that helps.

    It is off, redapg. My graphics board (ATI Radeon HD 7850) can produce 40-50 fps consistently with all graphic features maxed out, but I still get this weird behavior. I looked for some parameter in the INI file that could be a viable candidate for tweaking, but found nothing.

    Such popups are mostly track-dependent issue, you will find it a bit on older ISI tracks, on newer tracks less. Depending on how trackmaker has optimized his track.

    That opens the questions.

    Does it happens on all tracks?
    And with all mods and different car-cams (cockpit, tv-cockpit, hood..)?

    What you can try as a test, is to change an entry in the *.scn of a track where that happens.
    You have to make this editing before you start the game.
    Open the *.scn file of the track and you normally at the beginning have an entry called:

    View=mainview

    And in it's section you will find a line like:
    ClipPlanes=(0.05, 700.00) (this is from original joesville track)

    Change this into e.g.:
    ClipPlanes=(0.05, 2500.00)

    then save the changes and see if it changes something.

    Note: the line ClipPlanes=... is in the section View=rearview too, but that can stay unchanged.
