I just tried to install 770 and I have gotten the following message "Core component Location Common v1.0j is missing, invalid or damaged. Unable to continue. Please reinstall rFactor2"

So I uninstalled rFactor2 and moved the folder with all the tracks and such to a different drive and then attempted top reinstall again and I got the same message.
    Any help would be appreciated.

From the cmpReport.txt I found this information

Component "Standard HUD 1.0a" failed to verify, removed from inventory
Component "Location Common 1.0j" failed to verify, removed from inventory
Component "Shared 1.2j" failed to verify, removed from inventory
Component "core ui 1.0" failed to verify, removed from inventory
Component "Vehicle Common 1.2u" failed to verify, removed from inventory

    Thanks,
    John

So I uninstalled again and then installed build 660 which opened properly with no error messages. I then "updated" to build 770 and got the "Core component Location Common v1.0j is missing, invalid or damaged. Unable to continue. Please reinstall rFactor2" message again..
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    John

There is a thread somewhere that addressed this with a way to solve, but to be honest, there has been so much chatter resulting from the new 64bit and teething problems, that a person can't keep track of nor remember where what was seen. (whew! long sentence and lots of problems, but all solvable).

If I can locate the answer will post back. (just keep looking)

    ok,

Running my shortcut as admin did work for me. But I had already uninstalled and reinstalled. So you may need to do that and then run as admin. On install too.

    Hello
I install under Admin all the time
I am the only user on this Comp.
I have done many installs and uninstalls ans still get the same message.
It is not making any sence and think of anything else to try.

    Hello
    Hey John
I right clicked on the RF2 shortcut/Lancher on they desktop and clicked run as Administration and it worked.
I am still getting the error messages under the advance tap but RF2 seems to be working now
I am going to try a few things that I have in mind but the above is a work around but seems to work.
